all these new friends but... what do I say...?
No.151143
>>151139mhm... do we really have to say anything? i mean if they have nothing to say, i dont mind if they say nothing and i hope they dont mind if i say nothing too, i guess i will maybe invite them to play something if we play the same games, but honestly i am just happy to have them there
No.151191
>>151143I think that's fine. Never really played multiplayer games aside from these before so it'd be nice to play with others...
>>151176I only added one person because I remember they said they would before... I also don't want to bother people that don't want to be added...

No.151862
>>151858Well, I meant more that slower paced games or just playing games together more often is a good way to make friends. Hopefully in the future we'll have some coordinated stuff with hikari3 and wapchan and maybe 4/jp/ if mods are feeling permissive/lazy.
No.151863
>>151862Oh and kissu has a steam group, but there's no limit to the groups you can create/join. A /jp/verse one might be a good idea.
No.151864

No.151867
>steam group
That's how it starts, first you'll make a steam group and that won't be enough so you'll make a discord server, and next thing you know you won't even bother to organize gaming events on imageboards.
No.151868
just join the kissu steam group
No.151869
>>151867That's fair. Steam groups and discord are often overtly harmful to the host imageboard. Maybe just adding friends when you play together is a better idea.
No.151870
ill be there!!
No.151871
>>151867That's my main concern. I'd want to use it just to notify others of the games but... I do that with the thread. The main issue is the split between kissu and 4/jp/, and the unavoidable fact that people are going to miss out. Personally I don't wish to go back, even if it's to shit out a thread saying to check kissu.
No.151873
>>151868See, if kissu already has a steam group, that explains why no one bothered to organize gaming events on the imageboard itself.
No.151875
>>151873Nope, we have threads here, but multiplayer stuff isn't too common. It "works" because Steam is isolated and most people here don't use it and there's people there that don't use kissu. Probably not much of a kissu steam group now that I think about it, but yeah.
>>136312>>>/amv/3992>>>/amv/3797>>>/amv/3532>>>/amv/3215 and such are the kissu game threads. Mostly organized server stuff instead of spontaneous games.
No.151881
>>151875I will say I did think it was a bit weird Sven Co-op was organized here and not in /amv/
No.151882
>>151881Well, /amv/ didn't exist when the thread was made! I unfortunately moved those threads before we really thought about it much. I think it makes more sense to keep community threads in /qa/. Those other threads will get moved back if they become active again, I'm sure the OJ and Mahjong one will at least whereas others are more like completed playthroughs.
No.151883
>>151882Ah interesting, in that case I'll keep an eye on /qa/ for future vidya sesh threads

No.152343
The problem with taking the chatroom approach is you shut yourself off from the rest of the internet if there aren't people actively pushing for a space on an existing social platform to show what you do.
And this becomes harder the more entrenched your community gets with maintaining the existing social order.
The benefits of anonymous and public communities is these cliques can't form.
Just thoughts about if it's a good or bad thing and what you have to watch out for as someone running a chatroom extension of an existing platform
