i will have to think very carefully on the extent of RL discussion. absolutely no using my place as a marketplace directly, but the type of discussion i would allow might involve, say, how visa 3DS authentication works, how prepaid credit cards are issued, how fraud detection works, the economics of nudes in file lockers, but absolutely no actual physical services rendered via the forum. >To be sure, as with all early-stage quantum demonstrations, scaling this method to realistic network lengths and larger numbers of photons remains a challenge. Environmental noise, losses, and device imperfections still loom large. But now that a previously unrecognized mechanism for generating entanglement has come to light, quantum engineers have fresh avenues to explore.

neural nets try to minimize a cost function, so you can imagine if you have 2 inputs then your cost function is a curve, if you have 3 inputs then its 3d

however in practice you can't visualize the cost function especally when dealing with things like proteins which have 10s if not 100s of adjustable parameters depending on how you model them, a 100 dimensional problem is just incomprehensible

The things Reddit gives you.. Was asked to check someone’s ID for a big purchase… and didn’t do it. They paid with a Best Buy credit card. Am I fired? Am I gonna get my pay cut?
I was told to check out a couple with a big purchase (worth around $1600). It was just candies, drinks, and big and small items. They paid with their Best Buy credit card and said I did good at my job…
A few seconds later, a supervisor asked me “Did they pay for it?” I said yes. “Did you check their ID?” … “You were supposed to check their ID before they made the purchase.” My heart sank; I was crying mentally. When I first started, I was never told to ask for people’s ID when paying with the Best Buy card. I asked “I’m fired, aren’t I?” And I got a response “No, you’ll just be super poor.” It was around a $1600 purchase and heard it’s a 3 months salary…
So… am I fired? Will I actually “be super poor”?
