If /amv/ goes well, I may be able to give up that other site for good. /jp/ + smug/a/ was already the bare minimum for a 4/a/ replacement so adding a place for more focuses, medium-term /a/ discussion would totally cover that gap (except special holiday events I guess). I doubt /amv/ will be fast enough to cover all the major news (read: laughing at AAA crashing and burning), but if it at least covers quality discussion then I'll try using zzz or 8moe to cover the rest. Nothing else (outside of /f/) was worth going to outside of very specific happenings.

>>151589 Yeah, this is what I wanted from the board. 4/a/ was plagued by people starting kuso threads and waiting for people to show up and smug/a/ doesn't get enough traffic for threads to ever die so they just use the same one all season. I don't want things to be centralized like that where you come clicking on the same thread every week to check the new posts. If there's something in an episode I want to talk about I'll make a thread for that specific thing. Sometimes there will be multiple threads for the same show talking about different things, sometimes there won't be anything worth saying about it for a few weeks. How that ends up looking will depend on what everyone is watching and what they want to talk about, but the one thing we should avoid at all costs is centralizing and standardizing discussions.

>>>/secret/ venue where those sorts of things are tolerated...) I think the best way to think about is that Kissu is that the posters who call it home are united by shared otaku interests, but have disparate interests, knowledge, and experience. That was a large part of the appeal of 4/qa/ before Kissu was founded. There's not many places where people come together to discuss number theory, computer hardware, programming, spirituality, philosophy, internet history, anime, manga, video games, linguistics, and so much more! And what's more, have people who have informed opinions on all of those things and can speak in depth without resorting to baseless arguing with buzzword-laden posts!
That's what makes Kissu great to me. We can house all these serious things, but also enjoy watching silly seasonal anime or play video games together. My frens are here (
