Vichan is fairly well tested. Problems with it were exposed by it becoming the basis for 8kun's software. And hotwheels diehard believing it's the greatest thing ever... For better or worse... Means he looked at a lot of issues about it until giving up.
Imageboards at the current version before sharty related people started offering to help keep it going are likely all safe.
But people related to them have boasted about unknown vulnerabilities which we brushed off as just them trying to collect clout and reward money. They haven't used them yet if they even exist.
Kissu doesn't run any of it's content at root level and everything has users...like a sane admin... and all the images uploads are running at 0644 beijg parsed by generic tooling to strip exif amd
It's not doable short-term but we're going to rip out all of vichan's moderator and tooling for locally written stuff.
