Nice pic, anonymous('s brother).

Ah, he's lucky to have seen it in Summer. The humidity often causes low hanging clouds to obscure it.

>>2906I guess I'm lucky because this is my day-to-day. Sometimes I go walking around in places like this at 2am during full moon because it's so comfy.

>>2908It's so cool seeing the city at night from the top of a mountain like that. I wish we had something like that where I live. I'll probably never get to go see something like this in person now due to the new restrictions of travel recently introduced in my country.
Thinking about sneaking over the border to see if they'll let me fly out without papers. Then if I manage to get in-country I'd never leave. If I could somehow figure out how to ship over a .22lr rifle and a tent I could pretty much live forever in the woods no matter where I end up. Would be cool to become hunting hermit. Maybe even start legend of gaijin monster living in the woods just outside the city. Shave and come into the city now and again to have fun then quietly go back in the woods to live in tent or permanent shelter log cabin I'd build because I have nothing better to do with my time anyway.

>>2909When I was in France there was this really iconic area around the Mediteranean which is sketched into my memory as like a bright city 20km away that you can see due to being on top of the only mountain in a huge radius

>>2910We have a similar place here that I visit often. Our cities are a joke compared to real cities though. But you can see the sky line of the 3 major cities in this area (more like big towns) from the top of this local mountain. It's a oddity mountain. It's totally disconnected from the nearest mountain range which is almost 200 miles away. It's like it popped up in the middle of nowhere. You can see 4 counties and the surrounding farm/wood land from the summit. There is a huge old fire tower at the top.
I climb it about twice a year. More if I find the time. I sometimes haul up a small generator and a car battery up to the top. Then I broadcast pirate radio on shortwave. I have homemade antenna I string up between the fire tower and surrounding trees.
I also try to make long range contacts on ham radio with it. I reached a few states over with a HT one day. If things are just right I can hear the other side of my country sometimes.
I might go sometime this week. I've gotten pretty good at the climb up and can usually manage it in about 3 hours. I used to try to take friends with me but all they do is complain the entire time. They get winded easily but for some reason I don't. I hike up while chain smoking.
If I go up this week I'll take some pictures if I remember to bring camera.
