Why is it that every service experiences activity drops at night?
China, India and Indonesia are all in Asian time zones when North America and EU are mostly asleep. Yet Steam, a largely international platform experiences usercount drops when these high-population countries are awake?

どうして?

OP, i think you got this entirely backwards.

You're looking at 04:00 UTC, but in china, indonesia, and india, this would be around 09:30 - 12:00 local time, a time when most of these would be at work or on other day activities.
A more correct time to look at would be when these groups are actually free and at home, I.E. in the afternoon/evening in their own timezone. And 13:00 UTC would be around 18:30 - 21:00 in their local time, a time when most of these groups have probably gotten home and able to play games.
13:00 UTC is also about 08:00 in CST, a time when most americans have just woken up for work, and 14:00 in CET, and time when europeans are still at work. Few of which that are probably playing games on steam.
Yet, guess when peak steam player count happens (in UTC)?

It's been this way for around at least a year or two, especially in 2023 when Chinese overtook English for the first time as most used client language on the platform.
