File:[SubsPlease] Eiyuu Kyoushi….jpg (330.82 KB,1920x1080)

I think Eiyuu Kyoushitsu is quite enjoyable. The ecchi is very limited, though, and could be measured in single digits per episode. The animation is better than you'd expect, although the colors are a bit drab when it comes to my personal taste. I'm very curious to see the girl on the left here in the ED.
The blonde girl is nicknamed Cu-chan which offends me because it sounds like Ku-chan which is Kuon's nickname. I feel like this is something that needs to be addressed.

>Cu-chan
Her name being Cú Chulainn seems quite odd. Comes across as an odd choice for the author to make. I'm trying to look for parallels between her and the mythological Cú Chulainn but other than both being "great warriors" there doesn't seem to be much there. Though maybe she will fall into a beserker rage so deep that she must ravage all the women at school to quell her rage.

'Kuon' is just a regular name, people have had it before. 'Ku-chan'? It's intimate. It's used by friends and family. It's unforgivable for someone else to use it

Still catching up on it, but the vending machine show manages to be quite enjoyable. It's a shameless gimmick, but it has kept me intrigued to see what will happen next. Even though the story is dull, the character interactions are good and that's all you need. The humor isn't amazing, but it's decent enough.
Also the anthropomorphic bear leader is very stylish.

And in the latest episode (which I just watched) here's good example of a tiny subplot having a great scene just because of the characters and not because of any grand story.
The second half of the episode was villagers using the vending machine to deter a chain restaurant from running them out of business. It was literally a restaurant named Chains with big chain links on it.
There are some brief serious moments in the show, but the highlights are definitely the relaxing stuff. This is a fun show for sure.

Unique Skill has unfortunately really petered out after the first two episodes kept me hooked. I still liked it enough to marathon it since I was behind, but it doesn't have fill me with enough appreciation to make recordings to share.
The killer bunny girl barely got any screen time, so maybe that's related. Another show that keeps introducing new character when I wan to see the existing ones more.

File:[MTBB] Mushoku Tensei S2 -….jpg (315.06 KB,1920x1080)

I meant to say it last week, but this week's episode reinforced it: Mushoku Tensei is back to its old, great form. The first few episodes were really drab and a slog to get through. The 5 or so pity party episodes might have served a point story-wise, but I think it was a mistake to do it for that long.
There's good, enjoyable characters again and fun scenes.
I looked it up and the voice of /qa/ isn't credited as a supporting character, but she is for the next cour in Spring 2024. Still, though, I hope Roxy at least gets a brief cameo...

Unique Skill really fell off. It's a shame, I found myself skipping ahead in the past two episodes and that's not a good sign at all.
Blonde girl is really cute at least. Crazy bunny girl is nowhere to be seen. What a shame. It's still cool that the protag uses magic bullets that he can imbue with elements or healing and other stuff, it reminds me of Etrian Odyssey, but it's not enough to save the show. I'll keep watching, but... ehh....

There's a series of minute-long shorts on youtube (not "youtube shorts") of a crossover between Tempuru and the Kanojo escort girls. No one bothers to sub these things, but I'm not really interested anyway.
I like Tenpuru a lot while I hate Kanojo (except for how beautiful the art is) so it's a conflicting feeling. Strange to see, either way.

File:[SubsPlease] Jujutsu Kaise….jpg (300.3 KB,1920x1080)

A truly great morally grey villain is not one whom does evil and yet is nice to puppies, or has done some good in the past. That makes for a weak attempt to force unto others your view that your writing is deep. No, a great morally grey villain is one whose motivations for their actions are understandable, and their end goal may even be noble. Yet their way of accomplishing said goal is reprehensible. In that sense, Geto represents a fantastic model that other lesser authors, those that made me sick of the trope, should consider when attempting to shoehorn in their complexity.

That said, the second season of Jujutsu, or more specifically the flashback arc, has been my favorite thing airing so far. I argued in favor of Rudeus and the world of Mushoku being tied with it earlier in the season, but it's simply proven itself far more engaging with a wider array of characters I'm feeling attached to. With Gojo and Geto possibly being my favorites of the decade. More than attaching itself to Sukuna, their rivalry really drives the story.

Speaking of great villains, Kosugi in Zom100 was pretty great too. Fit the bill perfectly of a narcissistic manipulative psychopath that I have to believe the author experienced themselves for how well he was portrayed. My only real issue would be the way that it also seemed like the author knew someone like them in that he had him pissing his pants and needing to be saved and then left by everyone the next episode. But, the author doesn't want to drag down the story with maniacs and focus more on exploring the world so I get it.

File:[SubsPlease] Eiyuu Kyoushi….jpg (315.37 KB,1920x1080)

Season's almost over, so I guess I'll give a basic ranking of the stuff I watched that wasn't in the seasonal stream.

Eiyuu Kyoushitsu - Really fun. The humor is good and the episode variety is very enjoyable. Episode 10 locked the students inside a lost world "pantry" where they lived as caveman hunting sentient vegetables. The references are very direct. Episode 9 had the Eva Seele table thing which everyone does, but it even had the Congratulations scene which was kind of surreal to see in such a blatant way. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint of the show, is I don't like the washed out/blurry look. I like thick lines and vibrant colors. I definitely recommend this show.

Unique Skill - Started off strong, but suffered the usual fate of the guy becoming too powerful too quickly. The girls are good, but they didn't give the best ones (tiny blonde and killer rabbit) enough time later on. They did remedy this as killer bunny girl came back and joined the party, but she spent 5 episodes away by that point. Probably can't recommend this one unless you skip the parts without the bunny girl or blonde after episode 3.

Vending Machine - Great show. It's a gimmick, but the gimmick is done well. Distributing porn magazines to distract bandits or shooting out ice cubes and dry ice to defeat a fire skeleton is such a fun spin on things. He gets stronger like any other protag, but it's still somewhat reasonable. It passed the isekai test of a protag that didn't become a god by episode 3. I think I said early on that it will depend on the strength of the side characters to be good, and they're strong. Another very fun show that people should watch!

I'm slowly watching the Shiro Seijo show, but I haven't watched enough to give a full opinion on it. The first 4 episodes are standard, sleepy SoL stuff. I'll also marathon Bleach once every episode is out, but I'm sure it won't be too different from Spring's cour which means it will be quite great.

File:[SubsPlease] Lv1 Maou to O….jpg (328.26 KB,1920x1080)

Lv1 Maou had an odd sort of mundane down-to-earth feeling, where Fred the cleric becomes a bureaucrat but even in his post-adventuring days is still able to effortlessly nuke Ganma's walls without needing to whip out any special moves or transformations. He just goes and does it, no speeches or anything. Leo stands parallel as the leader of a breakaway ~something~ and is also able to clear the forest in the same manner. They're in a league of their own, they're powerful in more than one way, but they're not kings or emperors. It's got just the right scale. The same goes for Max's and Maou's escalating sports matches, it's silly but it shows they're still damn strong.

I think that's important because it shows that these people are not a joke and don't stereotypically hold back either, they know what they're doing and so should Max. It provides a nice contrast, and it makes sense that if anything would've gotten him out of his slump it'd be going out and proving his worth in a fight once more. So, although I think the serious and action parts had their place and moments like Maou going out to fight just to get Max motivated I liked quite a bit, it REALLY didn't need to spend close to four episodes on the fight, and the flashbacks were indeed kinda pointless (especially the ones focusing on Yulia, since she wasn't present at all).

Probably the only one I'm going to vaguely remember.

>>>/jp/61377
>Basically just reset everything to the status quo
Hard disagree. The minister was ousted, Fred took his place, Leo became mayor of the now integrated Ganma province, and Max fixed his public image. It's not a reset, and it's much more of a resolution than your regular open ending.

That's a nice write-up. It's true that there was some good development, but I still feel that it failed to focus properly on its strengths. The unmotivated hero coached by a reincarnated former enemy and a relationship beginning to blossom was really nice. Well, I think I already said this stuff already. I just didn't feel invested in all the politics and fighting.

>>115006
I didn't watch much, but I think a lot of people overlooked the vending machine show and dismissed it as a shallow gimmick. It has good characters, although they are able to insinuate a bit too much from the isekai'd vending machine guy's preset vending machine stock phrases. It doesn't feel like he's overpowered, but simply knowledgeable and using the tools available to him.
His obsessive level of knowledge of real life vending machines allows him to morph into the right machine for the situation which is something I found far more interesting than the usual isekai stuff.
Also it's getting a season two!
