Would struggle with chuuni anime with chuuni words, but most anime I can and do.

I can honestly only pick up some context by remembering the kanji so no. I use kanji as a crutch and can't really read anything at all. I think if I have the time to commit fully then yes I can do it, I have no doubt, it isn't difficult. Japanese doesn't feel inherently difficult to me.

Yes but I'm barely like N3 for 1.5 years now. This is even worse than a dekinai. My only hope would be speaking and writing with assertively correcting natives online, but that is incompatible with me reliably getting my bread and butter.
