To be fair the anime is a vastly inferior experience. I can tell you that the ending of Tsumihoroboshi doesn't hit remotely as hard without this blasting the whole time

Final bump. The stream(s) will be next Friday (20th) and if Higurashi Marathon wins it carry over to the following Friday (27th). Long streams of 13 episodes each so we'd start an hour of advance of the usual stream time, which would mean 5PM EST/10PM UTC.

You're right, but most people here have read it or they simply don't have the 100 hours to devote to reading it. VNs are a bit of a luxury intended for the loser nerds of the world with lots of free time. The anime is still great for its faces and its own original soundtrack. The SoL stuff is pretty good, too.
