A fan fiction for DDLC? Well, I haven't read the original so I don't think I can read this one...
It's interesting that people are doing this, though, I know people used to do it quite often for older VNs. Personally I never venture away from the "official" stuff, it's just a personal hangup of mine.

That's fair, honestly.
While i do encourage people to play DDLC (and my favorite mod) I understand people have preferences and opinions.

If i'm being honest, i think i enjoy the mods more than the base game. Maybe it's just because they give me an excuse to go back to DDLC.

Mods? There are multiple? These are just story addition things, right, or do they change other stuff? This is the first time I've heard the term "mod" used for a VN thingie. Maybe it's easier to alter the base program that make a new one? Kind of interesting.

Yeah!
The creator (Dan Salvato) doesn't really like spinoff games/ things like that. His rule is that if you want to make a game/story extension with the characters, it has to have the base game in it to be usable in the first place.
Most of them are just story alterations/extensions, but some (like RTTP my beloved) add on to the gimmicks DDLC had tenfold. Like having to poke around in the files, save and load, and start a new game to progress the story!
This is my first time on this website so i'm not sure if there are links allowed but there's a website with TONS of mods (and my favorite) that i frequent.

Huh, interesting. Yeah, I've never heard of modding a VN program before but I guess if once the ball is rolling it becomes the accepted way of doing things. That's pretty cool. Dang. That's really impressive to see so many, even if a good chunk of them are really short or "demos". That'a a seriously good thing to see so many people doing that and downloading and so on. Makes me wonder if it will inspire anyone to become writers of things in the future since these little fan projects can often inspire more thorough creations later on.
