Yep, that's the other clever way of doing it. But since that is technically supported, I felt it would be more fun to confuse people by making it look like it was a jpeg, since it does not actually support animation... or transparency.

Animated PNGs are something I want to learn someday since I think they could theoretically be used to animate big images on a webpage to simulate html stuff. Sadly CSS animation is hugely taxing on CPUs for what little it actually seems to be doing to a human eye. It's like you're mining crypto at 20% or something.

I mean the apng standard is just showing a series of images with a delay, just like gifs. So as long as you have the images you can just use ezgif or something similar to make an apng from them.

I even tested some and it turns out my paint.net could save the layers as an animated png, but that might've been a plugin i installed a long time ago and forgot about...

I've barely even touched on css animation so i don't know how much it can do, but if just showing a looping animation is what you need, i guess apng/gif could work instead.
