The best part is that this world actually did a genocide and thought goblins were basically extinct until this motherfucking isekaijin shows up and tells them he shipped the gobbies off to the new world and gave them the industrial revolution so they could work in sweatshops to fuel his arms dealing. Then he convinces them that it's actually a good thing because of diversity and they need to ally with the goblins to smash the bigots ruling the Empire. GS would be rolling in his grave.

There's not really such a thing as a villain in this show because there is no central protagonist, but all the isekaijin are huge dicks who fuck up the world for their own amusement and he definitely lives up to that. He seems to be behind most of the scheming happening this season, but it's hard to tell who all will benefit in the end since the people he screws over are morally grey at best.

It's hard to explain this show because there just isn't anything else quite like it.

I think I was watching the first season of this show back when it first came out and I only made it a few episodes in before dropping it because of horrid CGI. It did have its moments outside the CGI though, but when it was bad was so distracting that I couldn't bear it anymore. Did it get better as the anime came along?

The cheap CGI is mostly in the first few episodes, I think this season had a CG horse in an episode or two and that's it. It's like 80% setting up new characters and building the lore of a unique world that is chuuni as fuck in all the right ways while the overarching plot is delivered mostly in background bits of intrigue. And the rest is battle royales between these OP motherfuckers. You will either love it or hate it based on whether that chuuniness appeals to you. Personally, I think it's a breath of fresh air to have a show that spits out fresh ideas every week when every other fantasy show struggles to come up with a single unique aspect to squeeze into the cookie-cutter title.
