I'll be putting a vote during episode 6 in the stream UI to see if people want to continue the stream for all 12 episodes or to split it 6-6.
There's generally a poor turnout during the second week of things so I'm not sure which would lead to more people watching episodes 7-12, which is naturally when the story really ramps up.

I noticed some things with the second watch. Like the material in the relic weapons and the flesh of the boss monsters looking the same.
Due to only 5 people showing up I'm leaning against adding it to seasonal stream, but I guess we'll see how the season is since I can throw it at the very end.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this. It decided to set out to be morally gray and succeeded in a much smarter way than most others that try do. D isn't necessarily right, and neither are the Bosses or Rangers.

There's flaws in each of their philosophies and the only metric by which to really judge them critically is by how cognizant of the flaws they are. Red and the Bosses probably being the most morally black for their respective vainglory and goal to indiscriminately slaughter. Blue and Hibiki probably leaning closest to the side of justice, I couldn't really bring myself to feel anything but regret after his death because he really was being the ideal of what a ranger should be. A bit off the ideal track in his past, but his heart being in the right place in wanting to protect people. And there's really nothing bad or evil you can pin on Hibiki.

On the other hand D probably leans more towards an evil than a force for good. And because he's developed well like an actual person and not some evil monster, that reality seems to be eating away at him. His aim is to wipe out the rangers but the more he learns about the people around him the harder it is for him to think about world domination and its consequences on those nice people he's meeting. Humanity betrays his view of them as malignant creatures that take enjoyment from their suffering. Agonizing over killing Blue will probably be a real character defining moment for him I bet. Since there was no satisfaction in his victory, his epic battle just sorta ended and someone the people around him respect is now gone, which surely won't create a more positive atmosphere around him.

I'm interested in seeing where this goes in the second season because it's been quite the ride so far. Not really any filler time. Think I'm most interested in Yumeko because she's the most wrapped in mystery so far.

I'm quite eager to see where S2 goes. I've heard good things about the manga (someone was talking about it on kissu a few years ago) but I'm not really a manga guy. I'll see how interested I am at the end of S2 if there isn't another "CONTINUES in SEASON 3!" thing.
I assume S2 will introduce the third faction that was briefly hinted at. I'm a little worried that would clarify things, though, and remove the shades of grey. I don't think the original premise would be abandoned like that, though, right?
Yumeko is pretty good, she's very good screenshot material at the very least. I think I'm more partial to the blue girl, though.
Also I really, really want to see Red die.
