The constant in-universe meta references make me think that the entire isekai story is just a vehicle for something else.

It kind of... sucks. It reminds me of western comic book movie humor with all the dullness implied. The 20 second of sakuga or whatever at the end of each episode is kind of nice, though, but not worth sitting through the other 20 minutes.
