Looks like he miscalculated a bit now since China’s just normtown now

I took some basic Mandarin on Duolingo because Bilibili interests me but I really can't study and grind like I used to.
I doubt norms are learning anything really.

>>84850Having looked over several communities for learning Japanese I can assure you the vast majority of language learners are allergic to putting in effort and will insult you for trying harder than them and encourage each other to try less. I'm not joking. It's fine to go slow, but I don't think the vast majority of them are actually trying. They'll do their 5-10 words and go to bed because ughh it's just so hard to do more than 50 reviews and reading is exhausting because they don't know any words. They'd have a much more enjoyable time if they grinded hard for a while then just immersed in native content.

Uh, you were supposed to have already learned JP a long time ago, and then learned CN to have access to their elite piracy networks so you don't have trouble finding any raw manga and VNs you want.
Sadly I failed at the second part. But maybe now is a good time to fix that.
