Silent Witch is about literally me. It's also really really pretty, like movie level pretty. I've read a bit of what's available of the manga and it for the most part focuses on how monica is navigating her situation with her really bad case of shyness. Far less power fantasy than you'd expect from one of the top 7 mages.
They made her notably more moe than in the manga, though mostly because they gave her eye bags in the manga. Kinda wish they'd do that in the anime as well but I can't hate cute girls looking cute.

>>8257I'll give it a chance tonight when I go to bed, but it's a show that seemed to abandon its premise before the preview video ended. It started off as a class thing with the poor condemned to scraping by in a hellish literal garbage dump but quickly to pivoted to WHOA LOOK AT THEIR ABILITIES.
The world needs Robin Hood stories, but I'm not so sure what it's going to be doing. 24 episodes, though, so it has time.
No.8260
It's kinda like, I dunno what to say.
It starts off with some slick action that I like,
Then it shows some shallow "rich vs poor" mentality with very cliche "don't waste your food" type mentality.
Then no one believes or gives him a trial so they brush off a murder on him.
There's nothing new here. And it's not focusing on much and the beasts are 3D

The exact same inflection used by every other English speaking girl in this "space" now. Whoever is responsible for this needs to be sent to prison. >>8272I can't watch this. My ears feel violated every time she speaks. The Japanese VAs working on the show probably don't even know how shit her "acting" is.
It's not like English speakers can't voice act either, Disney and the likes have good voice acting for their characters, just the anime dubbers that suck and ruin it. Wish they'd gotten a better VA for this.
No.8291
>>8281It's definitely possible, you guys are just too cynical about it. The issue is takes a naturally cute voice or theatrical training, and both are in short supply. It leads to what I call the 'vtuber' voice, where everyone copies the weird baby talk whispering thing. But, now that I've watched this show, it's actually not that bad. She has more range. Although, the accent is certainly hard to pinpoint. Sometimes it's faux British, other times it sounds American, other times it sounds like a Japanese person doing it. Hafu makes sense.
Anyway, I've watched the Game Center show now and I think it's pretty good. The language barrier makes it quite unique.
The Koalas remind me of a cartoon I watched as a kid which I learned decades later was actually Japanese.

No.8319
>>8318I have noticed that appreciation of butt is directly linked to how obese the average woman is in whatever society you're from. Girls you to strive to be P-shaped in my country. But as the girls grew fatter so did the desire for the butt. Considering Japan doesn't seem to suffer from the rampant plague of fatness on average as my own country. I think butts have simply not come into vogue there as of yet. Hence the ideal body type portrayed in the media is still small butt+big boobs.
I've also noticed Japanese women's fashion is 10-20 years behind the rest of the first world. Consider the hair styles seen on idols and SHABs. They still have bangs. It's like hairstyle trends in Japan froze sometime around 1996.
So given the hairstyle trends I think the desire for larger asses will happen in 2040-2050. Assuming the freeze we're seeing in women's fashion doesn't continue and starts moving again soon.
No.8322
>>8319It's not just the butt, although that's the most obvious part of it. That leads to its own problem as seen in popular pornographic Western art. Good lord, those people have gone too far! Thighs have probably made the biggest gains with stuff like Gridman and Atelier Ryza. Although those largely suffer from size over detail, it's at least affording them attention.
Maybe I should revise my P-shaped Body Hypothesis to the P-Shaped Body Focus Hypothesis in which breasts absorb all the attention from the animators. Just some simple lines on legs can make them so much more appealing and sexy, but alas...
But yeah, a show about diggin up rocks is probably going to be the sexiest show this season.

Did anyone keep up with Summer Pockets.
I checked a bit of the last episode and it kind of seemed like it went the way I expected, but I didn't get to see any of the buildup.
Was it worth?

>>11026>>11037It was the last arc for me. Enjoyed Shiroha's cute shenanigans in the second last one, but the last arc was too boring, made me contemplate dropping it but I'm sticking till the end.
Kamome and Ao's arc were the best, wish they were longer.
No.11041
If anyone here has played the VN, is there more to Ao and Kamome or does the anime cover it all?

>>11051Witch? Do you mean the villain?
I don't really read manga so I have no idea.
No.11063
>>11062Not just you. I think the whole season was weaker, other than maybe the first few episodes. Very noticeable drop in animation quality, a huge focus on minor villains who are neither fun nor interesting despite a lot of time put into their backstories, fewer jokes in general and not landing as well, and Escher's song being repeated a billion times... I didn't hate it, but the first season was way more fun. I'll probably still pick up the manga eventually
No.11072
Anastasia a babe.
Mysterious white haired shouta at the end hinting at a third season and I'm all for it.
>>11063>Escher's songYeah, started getting sick of it. No wonder Guitane hated it. Maybe if it had lyrics instead of just lalalas.
No.11168
>>11072>Mysterious white haired shouta at the end hinting at a third season and I'm all for it.The arc associated with that one is a lot of fun, though it felt a bit dragged out in the latter middle section
There's supposed to be an intermission arc showing Sylpha's past and how she met Lloyd, it always felt like a strong movie-bait so I'm guessing that if the second season sells well enough she'll get her own movie and then season 3
No.11173
The inbetween season is so dull.
I tend to try and find things to stream from the current season or others, but I'm not sure there is anything that comes to mind this time.

>>11174Not going to make a huge deal of it, but I'm going to stream this at the regular place at the regular time.
See how many episodes I can get through.
I'll make a thread when I don't have work to get through
