It's one of those series I've really wanted to get into since the Dreamcast days, but still firmly in the procrastination backlog territory. I just never got around to it, I guess, despite hearing lots of great things over the years.

from what I played of 1, its a pretty tough game that demands that you pre-plan your fights and abuse finishing attacks with the heat gauge. I also tried the remake Kiwami 1 and while it follows the originals direction, it injects a lot of back story and makes the fights with the original games combat a bit more cumbersome when having to use the yakuza 0 fighting styles instead, which is pretty jarring.
