This season is so amazing that even the "generic" quasi-harem show Yami Healer with the super chuuni magical doctor is top notch. I don't know how it can be so good. It's unfortunate that the first episode did quite a poor job of selling it, but I'm so glad I decided to marathon episodes 2-5 yesterday.
It's all so cliche and yet it's executed so well with the cute girls being cute and the chuuni moments being stupidly satisfying.

Retardedly perfect chuuni skills: Check.
Cute adopted little elf girl: Check.
Cute mature ghost that goes "ka ka ka": Check.
Stupid fun humor that's occasionally serious when it needs to be: Check.
What a nice show.

Yes, it's a lot better after the first episode once things actually start. It's still ultimately a simple and dumb show, but it's executed well enough. The guy's personality isn't chuuni, but his abilities are.
"Y-you can nullify all my attacks? Impossible!"
"I just know basic spells"
The girls are indeed VERY cute, particularly the little adopted daughter elf that gets jealous of the other girls.

Alright I caught up on the show and the rest definitely is better than the first ep. The writing is very dumb but the characters are likable enough that I can mostly overlook it. It seems like it dropped the whole premise of him not realizing he's actually a super powerful mage, without him ever actually acknowledging it though?
