No.535
>>534Yeah, and if you use physical ammo you need to pay for each shot you take as well. So it's very useful to get energy weapons.
Also just beat it, and they really saved the most evil for last: A giant room of floating cubes that you need to platform up all while there's turrets on some of them that'll PUSH you off the cubes and send you basically plummeting to the ground. Where it'll take you another 5-10 minutes to climb back up again. What a sadistic level this was, and to top it all off they throw the hardest thing they can at you right after...

Its HAPPENING
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiOgQXYxLpAOh man I'm so excited. Some stuff I've noticed from the trailer
>scan modo? (1:28)>tank melee boost>flamethrower>explosion move from FA that i forget the name>quick turning (2:23)>flying mode?It looks like a combination of a bunch of stuff they've done in AC over the years, but mostly it seems like 4/FA. This is surprising to me since that was Miyazaki's work, and I didn't think Yamamura would grab onto the reigns. It looks fantastic so far.
No.557
>>556Holy CRAP, that looks amazing. Based on the movements and such most of that looks like it's rendered in the game engine too. Not lacking at all in mech-diversity either based on the trailer.
Taking influence from 4/FA would probably be a good idea with how many new eyes are on this because of Fromsoft's increased fame since the last one. I'd consider them a good entry point and hopefully this is one too (at least in the beginning) so it doesn't scare off the Souls players that will be flocking to it.

>>559Yeah I'm very interested in the whip. According to this interview

No.564
>>563I really hate the no debt part of the game. It kinda takes away meaning from losing during a mission, but at the same time I guess there's not much in the way of failing missions in this game either.
No.565
>>564Whaaaat. No debt?... That's like a huge part of Armored Core! For a studio quite renowned for making challenging games, dumbing it down and removing debt is a really weird decision...
No.566
>>565Yeah... I felt the same way. I think the reasoning behind it is that they're trying to make the actual encounters of the game a whole lot harder, so to have failure states on death and debt wouldn't make too much sense for them unless they were planning to give us Human Plus on going too high in it. Which going by what apparently Yamamura said about liking debt too could be a possibility in a sequel. But it seems like it sorta clashes with trying to make the game harder as if you make it too hard some people may get screwed out of playing.
No.567
>>565Uh debt hasn't been a thing in AC for a while now though? Did you even play the last game?
No.568
I seriously can't believe you're crying over debt and not the actual staple of AC being lost, TURNING SPEED. Like what the fuck, tanks can just turn on a dime now? That really annoys me and I can't imagine what pvp will look like now. I'm still buying AC6, I think it looks great, but removing turning speed and adding this hard lock-on shit really ruins my mood.
No.569
>>568Sorry, I don't watch spoiler reviews until I can play a game myself.
No.570
>>568Well from what I saw in the video tanks still have to take a bit of time to turn physically to change direction, but what's changed instead is that the upper body seems to turn more independent of the lower body.

I'm reading rumors about how 3v3 is going to have respawn mechanics and be score based. If this is true I'm going to be really upset. I'm not sure where the source is, but if there's no way to remove respawn then my hype for this game is going down the shitter. I want something like FA or VD where its a fight to the last man. If you add respawn you remove 99% of the strategy and the game just ends up feeling like an arcade shooter. Too early to make judgements though...
No.580
>>578I can't watch anymore, the woman is so fucking obnoxious. Anyway turns out this rumor was true
>>577, the 3v3 looks awful. No tactics, no strategy, no teamwork, nothing that made the last game so fantastic. Nothing that made people stick around with FA for so long. It's basically just Elden Ring's arena mode except with mechs. Having repsawn just kills so much of what makes Armored Core's pvp good. Not even going to give us custom lobby options? So bad. Maybe the 1v1 will be better but I can't even expect anything anymore. One fucking job.
Still buying the game, looks fun. But for an Armored Core game, it's not what I've been waiting 10 years for. There were so many things I was willing to overlook, but man even the music SUCKS. WHERE IS KOTA HOSHINO? WHERE ARE THE VOCAL TRACKS

He's a filter to teach you to use the shop and assembly so that you can purchase double of the plasma machine guns that melt his shield. It makes the fight a whole lot more bearable especially since it gives you a short path towards a damage window which you can outfit yourself with laser cannons in such that you deal the most damage possible and can kill him in 2 shield breaks.

>>622Impressive work when you think about it not having any layers. It doesn't have layers, right? I didn't see any in that video at least. Digital art is centered on working with layers so I get a headache thinking of doing this. I also had no idea there were "stencil" programs like that 'eWrap Zeta" thing he's using there. I can't think of anything I'd use it for since I'd be doing it programs that already have their own, but that's cool.
But geez, all that work for some gacha character?
No.624
>>623There is layers. The lower numbers act as lower layers and you build upon that. (I think) It more or less has the same system in AC6.
No.625
>>624Oh, now I see. I was just skipping around and thought those were just unloaded stencils or something. That's pretty awkward, but yeah I guess that's not
too bad then. Crazy that there's layers, though. That's quite elaborate for a game
No.626
>>624>The lower numbers act as lower layersActually in this video's case its the higher numbers. You basically start at the top (128) and move your way down.
Or something like that. I don't know how drawing or even tracing works.

damn those snipers on the Sulla mission are brutal.
I dodge when I hear the bloop bloop warning but they still often hit me.
No.628
Beat my first route, it was fun but I never really felt like I needed to learn bosses, I could basically just tank through everything and burst them down. Well that and with tetrapod legs I couldn't dodge much from the Ch 4 and 5 bosses anyway.
No.629
>>627You think those snipers are bad? Just wait until
you have to deal with them flying in on the tower defense mission and shooting down the defenses to the xylem for which if you don't fend them off in time the suicide drones right after will obliterate the base because you can NOT shoot them down

No.632
>>631It is almost certainly a factor, but I'm guessing accuracy/expenses probably play a factor in it. Can't use a single heal if I've heard right. Which makes me dread doing some of the harder bosses. Probably going to be the one achievement I ignore like "Embrace the Void" in Hollow Knight.

Now that the dust has settled, I can safely say I fucking HATE the changes made to AC6. Hard-lock is fucking disgusting and the lack of turning speed is a disgrace. This is not the game I waited a decade for. Yamamura was not the man for the job. Fuck why couldn't they just remaster VD...
No.643
>>642I think if you take out the hard lock and instant turning, this game becomes near perfect. The gunplay just feels so good and I love the way impact melee has.
No.644
>>643I wouldn't call it near perfect. Actually I don't like the stun centered gameplay either because it turns the game into just shoot>stun>combo
. This ruins melee for me because it feels sub-optimal to use for anything other than hitting a sunned enemy. Melee in previous AC games had you thinking in 5d trying to figure out how you were going to land a pilebunker. It always felt extremely satisfying. I don't get that here. I honestly think this is one of the worst AC games, but it's still a pretty good game funny enough.
The worst part though is that it's so casualized that's it's hard to believe they will just revert back to the OG AC formula since nu-AC fans will see it as "clunky."
