And while similar to Drakengard in story quality, the gameplay for these RPGs actually sucks you in.

So what experience or opinions does /qa/ have with the series, or Taro in general? Automata's got an anime out right now that I've been putting on hold until I beat everything, but maybe people have seen and enjoyed it as well.

the anime is quite good. the condensed format helps distill certain moments in automata extremely well, yoko definitely had a heavy hand in its direction.

I think I probably blew past most of the sidequests when I initially played since I feel a good chunk of these would've been ingrained in my memory had I done them in full... The tragedy of a small delivery questline is handled so elegantly it made me feel more emotionally than anything airing this season...

Even though I know they're coming the emotional moments are still so good at tugging at my heartstrings. And I love the reminder that you don't need to display hordes of angry villagers with pitchforks to convey themes of bigotry. Yep, you're right. Holy hell that's one game I never want to full clear again. Ending E was a great end though a bit trolly, but actually getting all the secrets and grinding dragon levels for hours and hours on end to beat ending B is a process that just sucks.

The gameplay itself isn't that bad, and I daresay the dragon combat is better than most games. But the amount of times I opened up and redid 5-3 for half an hour really drained me.
