it's not antogonistic i'm just saying what my experience was. it's like the same six memes being circle jerked over and over. an echo chamber of try hard posters. i guess you could say it's very "otakucore" but if you're actually into any of that stuff it's going to be a very shallow and boring experience for you. so far this site and heyurii has been a slightly more authentic and fun place. most sites even heyurii will kind of feel like some lame larp though sometimes. i've never found a thread that felt genuine on hikari3. i think it might actually be a bunch of tiktokers roleplaying. not antagonizing, it might be different by now, that's my experience with it and i kind of loathed it. i don't go to heyrui anymore either.

this is my experience as someone who had the goal in mind of finding a smaller imageboard to discuss anime and manga/etc as hobbies. since all the mainstream sites actually just feel like social media now and sometimes a smaller place is more ideal than what 4chan is now. i just didn't like hikari3. it might actually be a fun place for you if you like the memes that they really seem to like there.

The culture for imageboards or anonymous hobbytalk just simply doesn't exist anymore. The culture has shifted over the last decade to what it is now and if you want in depth hobby talk and whatnot idk start a discord server or find an obscure subreddit. I do that and I can come here or to Hikari and still enjoy the vibes but I do relate to what you're saying. You just need to get over that and get with the times. This is now a novelty and that's okay.
