This is very hard to choose because there's such a great variety that are good at different things. Some are very intelligent, some are funny, while others are truly beautiful. Picking one as my favorite is too difficult!
Maybe if I had to choose it would be a type of parrot since they combine all three, but which kind...

Ravens. They're big, cool looking, make funny caw noises, unlike crows they are very aloof and a lot harder to get on good terms with.

I really like pigeons. They're ubiqutious stupid birds I keep finding on my lawn. They're nasty little shits but their retardation is endearing.
Crows are also good from a pragmatic standpoint. I like crows. Everybody likes crows.

I suppose it's kingfishers because I saw one once as a kid and I thought it looked really cool

At first i was going to go with ravens or crows or something, but then i realized i do have another one i have a more personal preference for: Magpies!
They're in the same family as crows and ravens, but much easier to tell apart because of their coloring.
And i also kind of like their high-pitched "autistic laughing" sound they make.
I might be a little biased though because i got to watch magpies grow up in nest in my yard as a kid, from eggs to when they flew out.

Also, you should look up the scientific name for the Eurasian magpie!

      I love mallards. They are cute and friendly and I love them (* ´ ω ` *)

Near my house there's a river trail and there's duckies and they've befriended a goose and they always walk together

Today while out with my friend I saw not one but two of these. They flew away rather fast so no pics unfortunately. My first time seeing one ever.
The photo doesn't do it justice; they are a very rich blue hue that changes in the light, they can go to raven dark blue too.

Kingfisher is a great choice. They were easily my favorite birds when I was a kid, but I don't know what I would choose now after knowing so many of them. It's really hard to think of a bird that's overall as impressive as the kingfishers, though.

      ¥Having bad day
      ¥Hear crow
¥Look over to see a group of them all hanging out in one tree squawking at each other
      ¥Have good rest of day
I really love them so much.

      Local birb rating:
crows (would befriend) > ducks (idem) > swans (pretty but intimidating) > storks (rare but majestic) > parakeets (rare but funny) > herons (rare and weird) > magpies (pretty but annoying) > assorted waterfowl no one cares to name >>> geese (stop honking and shitting) >>> pigeons (STOP SHITTING EVERYWHERE) >>> gulls (STOP EXISTING)

I forgot about the blackbirds and the sparrows, but so does everyone else.
