One of my favorite shows is getting a sequel soon. I really like this series and think a lot of people passed over it because it was said to be a Madoka rip-off when the anime came out. I've been reading the LNs and they're really good. I think they'd be a perfect series for someone learning kana.

The new season of the anime should be really good because it will cover what is arguably the best two LNs in the series. The only downside is it'll probably be 12 episodes instead of 24. It's a lot of content to cover in 12 episodes. The first season felt really fast paced because of that. I don't want to spoil anything but suffice to say characters are introduced quickly and certain events happen too fast.

Anyone else a fan of Raising Project? I don't understand why this series isn't more popular. It feels like only a few people have seen it. I am hopeful season 2 will do good in the ratings and maybe we'll get some OVAs or something. A proper video game based on this series would be really fun.

For those that can't read moonrunes. The LNs have been translated into English by Yen Press. You can find them at the usual place. But since I really like this series I went ahead and uploaded all of the .epubs for you.

From what I can tell the translation into English is decent. At least for the first few books. If someone wants the originals let me know.

Hmm... when did the original come out? Hmmm... I think I could give some episodes a try. If this is something I can add to the seasonal stream then we'd need to marathon the first part. Hmmmmm.....

It aired during the fall 2016 season. It's an easy watch. A lot happens in each episode so you stay engaged. The pacing is very fast. There is a NEET magical girl who can enter other people's dreams.

The story is about a secret organization that releases a phone game where you can create your own magical girl avatar to play as. The game picks random people to become magical girl IRL using their avatar and stats in-game as a template for their transformation. It doesn't matter what you are IRL you become a JC/JK magical girl with perfect skin and other top-tier features. So the cast of characters is very broad. A conflict arises pretty quickly in the anime that forces all of the magical girls into conflict with each other. They end up splitting off into teams and fighting against each other instead of fighting against evil. For good reason.

I don't want to say more than that because I'll spoil it.

In the LNs you get more of her backstory. I really like Alice to. But NEET-chan is by far my favorite.

You're wrong. NEET-tan can enter your dreams. So you can fuck her both while sleeping and while awake. Also she can transform herself into Alice in your dream if that's what you want. She's literally the perfect woman.

>I don't understand why this series isn't more popular
People call it Dollar General Madoka because it falls squarely into the category of dark and gritty mahou shoujo that people were tired of. Though in reality it's far removed from Madoka and Wal-mart Madoka in that they were mahou shoujo series with suffering included while Raising Project is just an edgy battle royale with a mahou shoujo coat of paint. It says a lot that I had to remind myself that this and Mahou Shoujo Site are different things.

I'll probably still watch it, but I really don't remember too much about the specifics of the plot beyond >she and Swimswim doing nothing wrong. I think each arc starts a brand new game though, so maybe I don't really need to.

So what happened between then and now with the current litRPG isekai trend that shows no signs of abating?

They're not really connected. Battle harems were the previous braindead LN template that got adapted way too often. The edgy mahou shoujo trend just fell off over time as Madoka became a distant memory and the genre slowly reverted back to light-hearted stuff like Twin Angel and Ore.

I remember not reading the books themselves but hearing about how it really changes after the first round of games where Himekawa starts to take charge and really differ from how she was in the beginning.
