No.121924
>>121916Video game prices are actually kind of good when you think of inflation. There were NES games were like $50-60 and SNES games could reach $70 or more. Although, back then you had a nice cart and booklet and could resell it if you wanted so it's not a 1:1 comparison. I think a major game having the $70 price tag will be a test to see how the prices are moving forward. They'd certainly sell more if it was $50, so will the extra $20 for fewer customers make up for it?
I would have bought it instantly if it was $50, but at this price point I really have to wait and see what people are saying and how long it is and even then it's a tough sell.

No.121926
>>121924It's not a test, publishers already decided to make that the standard and are pushing to normalize the new price point with consumers. They know you don't have a choice if you want to play their big titles and will make excuses like "oh, actually these prices are good because inflation" to justify letting yourself get screwed over. It's the same shit as OP going "oh, well the predatory mtx aren't a reason not to buy the game because all their games have predatory mtx". Every time you cave, you ensure they'll do it again.

No.121928
>>121926>the predatory mtxThat's where you take and twist my words to misinterpret my meaning. The mtx in this are NOT predatory and in no way does the game show a design choice to make the purchasable currency meaningfully rare or time consuming to procure such that the label of 'predatory' would apply. What they are, are a kuso attachment by the publisher as a stupid tax for people that want to play the game with their wallets rather than actually playing. Everything advertised as dlc besides the dumb DS2 style "improved starter weapons" are easily attainable ingame. I don't like it so I'm not buying it, but the obvious thing here is that there are people that buy them in all the other games that Capcom's put it into such that they keep doing it.

>>121928You're right, it's fine to give the publishers your money because it's just the publishers who are trying to nickel and dime their customers! Besides, only dumb kids are stupid enough to actually pay extra money beyond the extra $10 they added to the base game, so they're not actually preying on anyone!

No.121933
>>121932I do boycott all predatory mtx games, but I don't consider the mtx in this predatory. Go fuck yourself I'm not gonna prostrate myself to you and not play a fun game because of morals I don't agree with. I don't play P2W mmos, I don't play gacha, I don't play mobile games. I have a standard for what I won't support in general and this doesn't cross that line.

I already lost two tardpawns to the water before even reaching the city. Is that a lore thing that they don't have a self preservation instinct? And I can't figure out how to "truck" and "pedestal" (I looked those terms up) the camera in photo mode.
>>121937yeah, but things don't get any less uncool just because they are to be expected. In Monster Hunter Rise I had a flippin BUY THIS CONTENT banner on the title screen once and to add insult to injury it was a super low resolution image too. So yeah Monster Hunter is worse. But that doesn't mean I'm cool with this.

https://steamcommunity.com/games/2054970/announcements/detail/6976727636231899160There's a big patch out that seems focused on fixes and balance. I was waiting for something like this, but was beginning to lose hope in such a thing. I'm not sure how fat this would go in fixing everything, but it's good that they looked at it.
Looks like it added a new "Casual Mode' difficulty which I don't have any interest in, but I have to wonder why this is part of a difficulty choice:
>Less Stamina expended when dashing outside of battle. How does that relate to difficulty at all? I remember in the first one, PC had mods to eliminate stamina use for running outside of combat. It offers no combat benefit, it just lets you move around the map faster. Pure quality of life.
No.133426
>>133422Doesn't really seem like it does much if it's just minor tweaks and adjustments to everything. What the game really needed was increased variety of monsters and more boss monsters to fight. Also more natural means of movement and less fast travel. Then with such a huge island some more exploration rewards would've been great. The classes in terms of skills needed a bit more spice to them too.
No.133427
>>133425oops
>>133426Oh. Well, that's probably too much to expect from a patch. That would probably be something tied to an expansion, if they make one like they did for the original.
