What have kissu's gamers been looking forward to recently? Or is there anything interesting/fun you guys are playing now

 No.52259

I've been playing minecraft. Modded to hell and back.
I made a marble house, pure fucking marble! And I'm now making an above ground tunnel towards a turkish village (that's a mod too).

looking forward to maybe cyberpunk and dartktide other than official games, Beyond Skyrim's Atomora and Roscrea projects and then a handful of projects for ck2/ck3

been playing dark souls 3 a lot lately
bought it last year and got to vordt but for some reason decided he was impossible to beat and shelved it

 No.52274

playing alot of league of legends because I have a problem, aside from that i recently picked up apex legends because I saw vtubers streaming it and i like the gameplay but dont really have anyone to play with which is a must for those types of games
will play ck3 after first patch and will eventually play victoria 2 again

 No.52275

well, i think that can be said for a lot of bosses. you kind of underestimate how difficult these early game bosses can be for new players if youve been playing for a while, i remember i was stuck in the burg getting thrashed by the taurus demon every day for a month until i finally figured it out

speaking of ds3 im going to fire up CE sometime this week and see if i can reenable poise, i want to see how much it changes the game especially boss fights. ive been watching boss v boss fights a lot lately and if theres one take away from it its that staggerable bosses were a mistake. yhorm is absolutely pathetic here

dang that's a lot of skills
how's the gameplay of poe? is the campaign long or is there something to do post-endgame, like diablo's hell/nightmare/inferno or d3's rifts

 No.52612

Been interested in Sakuna when it got announced. Nice to see it finally get a release date after being delayed. Gundam mbon has been eating up all my free time though so I might not even play it when it comes out.

 No.52630

>>52601
it's like a more complex and fast paced d2. i like it.

the campaign is pretty long, but there's also a lot of endgame content. there are a total of 10 acts and no higher difficulties for them (there used to be, but that was before they extended the number of acts. there were only 3 when the game first released). they leave you at around lvl 68-73 when you finish them. it can go up to 100 and the rest of that is spent doing maps and league specific stuff. most people rush through acts to get to mapping as soon as possible.

i'm lvl 63 and on act 10 right now trying to not leave my slow ass friend i'm playing with too behind.

Dev for Maidensnow Eve just released a status scroller demo for a possible sequel. Barring a miracle "recovery" of the D&P dev, this is fine too.

Not really a game, but picked up the Vengeful Heart VN and it has been a good read. I'm a sucker for PC-98 art.

 No.53250

Found out this existed recently and played around with it a bit. The concept is really neat, but the actual game itself is very buggy and not very well fleshed out in terms of features yet. It's been in development for quite some time now, though, and the developer doesn't seem like they're going to stop anytime soon, so here's hoping they fully flesh it out into a harvest moon type game or something. Also, the dev does something I think a lot of projects could learn from; beta releases are put onto Patreon, but all of the main updates are completely free. Moreover, the game itself is a name your price type of thing.

 No.53264

>>53250
It looks neat, but at the same time the attitude it gives off really pisses me off. I can clearly recognize the characters as those from other series with distinct personalities, and the game simply waters them down to "loli". It's a bit of an affront to the characters (especially Holo who's in this despite not being a loli in any sense of the word). In the end, it's cute but upsets my autism so I dislike it.

 No.53274

>>53264
I think it'd help to understand that this originated as, "Project Shinobu," and that Shinobu is the only character officially part of Viva Project as far I understand. Other characters may be featured in releases, but are all user made submissions to my knowledge.

In that case why does she act nothing like Shinobu...

I guess it's more a married simulator or something for the author to act out living life with Shinobu as his friendly wife or something (or daughter?).

 No.53291

>>53279
Broadly, she does, I think. I suppose it's fairly difficult to entirely replicate a character's behavior when the actions of the player aren't directed like they would be in something theoretically more faithful like a visual novel.

How's progression in it? Does it seem really mobile game-like, or does it feel like a normal game. Wondering how hard they're pushing their upgrades.

 No.54319

Finished Disco Elysium (I can see why people wouldn't like the ending, great game still), BotW's DLC and SMT IV (not the biggest fan). Time for Quake 2 and Etrian, drawing a map in-game looks really fuckin' cool.
>>54295
The combat in BotW isn't deep, like in terms of action/skill, but it's carried by metric ton of approaches you can take. No idea about Genshin.

 No.54376

>>54317
Progression is basically the same as a mobile game, you get characters from gacha, evolve them to level 20 and then you have to ascend them, similar system for weapons, you can get parts for both for this from daily dungeons. I am still relatively new at it so I don't know how grindy it would be to upgrade to late game levels or even if it might simply be near impossible without paying.

It's a true port, it features remastered graphics and music which were then repackaged and sold separately on the gameboy advance. Only real reason to get it is that it has the only western release of the lost levels. It's a lot cheaper than buying a famicom with a disk system. Unless you're talking about the new 3d all stars thing, in which case yeah it's all emulated trash don't get it.

They shouldn't, and Nintendo doesn't expect them to. Super Mario 3D Allstars isn't made for hardcore fans. Nothing Nintendo makes is.

Nintendo primarily caters to 3 camps; nostalgic adults who played these games when they came out and haven't touched them since, children who like Nintendo games because they're easy, and casual gamers who whip their games out at a party or while friends are over so they can chat over the them.

A collection like 3D Allstars is great if you're any of those people, because you get 3 really good Mario games in one convenient package, and you won't know that the emulation sucks so it'll feel fine.

A problem I have with Genshin is the lack of content, I'm relatively early in and the quests are drying up already, there are not really that many characters and I don't really like what they have much either. Update:Finished Nier today... what a game! What a fucking game! it may be my favorite videogame now... When I made that post I've only completed the A ending and now I finished B,C,D and the E true ending +others, I tried not to look at guides for the sidequests but gave up lole also tried beating the credits w/o help but I said yes when someone came to help me just to see what it did and I was mad because I wanted to do it alone so I didn't delete my file to help others. Only thing left to do is the gambler's and undergound colliseum special trials but I'll have to farm chips for it and i'm a bit burnout of grinding so I'm gonna start yakuza kiwami tomorrow and comeback to it when I feel like it.

I played The Messenger, I liked how they used the 4th wall to make jokes without making it too intrusive or forced, it was genuinely funny sometimes and the story was ok. I've started playing Ragnarok ACE on Vita before I go to bed. It's a weird sort of Monster Hunter clone, yet it's a bit different since there's buttons for skills and such. So far I'm stuck as my starting class, Mage, but it seems like I'll be able to switch between them at some point.

Been playing muds lately. Got back into batmud and it's pretty decent but quite party heavy, and while the game has a fair number of players for a text based game most of them are highbies who've been playing for two decades at this point. The game itself boils down to making the number go up and growing your character, either by grinding mobs (which there's a lot of ways to do because of number of guilds), or converting gold to exp as a merchant but for that you'll need some exp to start with. Also exploring which is just running through new rooms.
Another one I've been trying is Icesus but only for a few days so far, game has barely any players but it doesn't seem as reliant on having them in party/getting services from them. Can't say too much about it but what draws me so far is profession levels (hunting/fishing/crafting/etc) and the world itself is a lot more coherent theme-wise (unlike garbled mess that is batmud, a bunch of dumb locations made by wizards of the past), locations are a lot more interesting to explore too. Combat looks good as well but it's too soon to tell.

I decided a few weeks ago to get an android emulator and try some games. One of the first ones I tried (and the only I'm still playing) is Last Origin. It's a Korean F2P game that is thankfully not actually as stingy with money as the others I've seen. Hell, you don't need to spend money at all and there's no limited time stuff that requires you to shell out cash or miss out on.
I will say, though, that there is a LOT of grinding, but there's an auto-battle mode so I just have it doing some grinding minimized. This is one the perks of emulating it on PC, I imagine.

Unfortunately, it's not translated and it seems the a fan patch to translate it is outdated and doesn't work. I just posted on 4chan to see if I can get more info, as this is well within my modding knowledge. However, the wikipedia is extensive and I have a tab of it open when I need information.

As for the gameplay, I read someone say "ecchi megaman battle network" or something. I was never big on those Megaman Battle Network games, but now I think I need to try them.
So how do they make money if it's F2P and it's not scummy? Well, the skins are really good. REALLY good.
Uhh... I think I'll make a mp4 or two for this game soon so I can go into more detail.

Apparently you can get cracked versions somewhere, but the only site I found with a cursory search charged for it (and didn't have Last Origin). It seemed very warez-y and suspicious so I'm a bit skeptical. However, I have already done some simple texture replacers for the battle appearances (and people have made nude edits).

Nope but maybe eventually. It was announced like a year and a half ago and the release timetable was first half of 2021, so people have kind of lost hope. There was a fan translation for gameplay/UI stuff, but it stopped getting updated and I'm trying to figure out if that was because he chose to stop or if they blocked it. I know how to edit the localization file, btu the game rejects it and replaces it. Strangely it does not do this with image files, which is the source of their profit. Some of the guys behind FAF-- which is a fan takeover of Supreme Commander since its official servers (and company) died-- are working on their own RTS that's basically the same thing.
The attached video is an interview with Gyle who is a prominent Supreme Commander caster that I've watched for hundreds of hours probably. (really nice to have in corner of screen).
Something interesting that sticks out to me is when they said something like "You used to need millions of dollars to make video games, but you don't these days". It's the internet equivalent of some guys working out of their garage and they're making something on a technical level that's superior to what took millions of dollars and dozens of people just a decade ago. It's pretty amazing and it reminds me that I need to get off my butt and start applying myself.

I don' think they've done the best job with their command over SC2 community, but they've probably decompiled the entire supreme commander source code and/or understand everything about how it works so I hope it's good. They did design their own faction for SC2 which was on it's surface a waste of time, but perhaps they always wanted to make a new game anyways since it was clear they'd never get a sequel game of value.

I feel weird whenever people say that, cause a lot of the successful 90's pc games were made by a handful of people in a basement. it feels like people forgot how "indie" gaming was for a bit, like history just kind of swallowed it up. it absolutely did get easier, though. those guys back then had to have at least one seriously hardcore programmer to make anything worthwhile, unity godot et al have way less of a barrier to entry than that.

I think the real difference is the internet. Prior to the early 2010s, you needed to go through a publisher if you wanted your game to reach the mainstream. But as the internet got bigger, it became more and more viable to sell your games directly off the web.

I think part of it is due to the genre (RTS) and all the crazy physics stuff that the layman really couldn't make much use of back then. Opened up my Vita recently and was instantly stuck with why I haven't been using it: I desperately need one of those nice 1TB micro sd cards. I've got my library of games spread across 3 micro sd cards, and the game icon bubbles don't sync between swapping out what sd card I'm using because each time on boot my vita does a "Refreshing database" which scraps the previous icon layout. Likewise, even though I somehow figured out a while ago (and have since forgotten) how to keep icons for games not installed on one to stay on another, I can't just swap the sd card and play games installed on that one because then I'll get an error saying "Please insert the game card to play this title" when I try opening one until I restart my vita, which again, scraps the icon layout. What's even more annoying is that I have so many games installed that I have to restart my vita multiple times to get all of the icons to load. There's a maximum number of pages, so only a set number of icons can refresh onto the home each time (not counting folders), meaning if I have 100 games, and there's only space for 50 icons, I need to put those 50 icons into folders and then restart and put the remaining 50 into folders. It's just all such a pain.

Maybe this problem of hotswapping cards and mantaining icon layouts has already been solved and I just need to check out that autoplugin app, but I have no idea.

 No.76949

Figured out how to hotswap the sd cards again. You just have to mount and unmount the card via VitaShell, and then refresh the live area and refresh the license database to save icon layout so it doesn't get reset after rebooting.

I really like Shenzhen I/O. The projects are pretty fun, and definitely require some amount of creative thinking, but the restriction of working with hardware with VERY limited microcontrollers that you program in a sort of pseudo assembly is rather unrealistic. That being said, I think Shenzhen I/O is an easy recommendation to anyone with a programming mindset. If you plan on playing it, you absolutely should go in blind. By its nature, knowing the solution to projects will greatly cheapen your experience if you learn how someone else approached it first. Pic related is technically a spoiler, but it does give somewhat of an idea of the difficulty involved.

However, the difficulty ramp is quite steep. The first few projects are relatively easy, but once you start dealing with multiple inputs and outputs and conditional statements, things start getting a lot more difficult; Shenzhen I/O basically demands that you write fairly optimized code. Unlike with typically programming, you can't just "write your way out" of solving a given problem. Your microcontrollers only have so many lines of code they will accept, and only so many registers for storing values. In other words, you either need to think up an optimized solution as you work, or you need to chain microcontrollers together for completing tasks. A common arrangement is using one microcontroller to perform some operation and/or to store a value, which then gets passed to another microcontroller rather than having everything done on a single chip.

A rather unique part of Shenzhen I/O is that it has an accompanying PDF for use while playing. The PDF contains mock datasheets on each component, as well as general instructions on how the pseudo assembly works and more. If you really want to get into it, the PDF suggests printing out every page and putting them into a binder for a more authentic experience, flipping through pages for information while playing.

Well if you like a story were shit hits the fan within 12 minutes from starting and the game not letting off the breaks until the final chapter and I do mean pedal to the metal you'll be in fights every 8 minutes with Bosses showing up with no warning. That's on top of a real time battle system that rewards comboing attacks while swapping between three different classes. The story itself isn't so bad outside of a desperate need for world building that is not in the form of a text dump, I personally like having an MC that's a total bitch, Sazh is quite likeable with a good subplot and Hope is cute as heck and best boy subplot and the rest I don't really have an opinion on.
Can't speak about how hard the game is because I play under levelled on purpose, can't talk about XIII-3 because I want to beat it first but the story is reminding me of the scraped story for X before Square rewrote the story.

Played through Halo 3: ODST on Heroic. It was pretty fun. I did Halo 3 a few months ago on Legendary, and I have to say, Heroic is much more my speed. Legendary is pretty insane, and I remember constantly dying. On Heroic, I think I only died a few times, mostly due to my own incompetence: stuff like walking directly into a group of enemies, or going into a battle with not much ammo. Probably going to do the rest of the series later. I'm not looking forward to Halo 2 with insta-kill snipers, however.

On the other hand, now that I'm thinking about it, playing on Legendary definitely refined my aim to consistently manage headshots, and I did learn a few tricks here and there, like giving marines power weapons and using the plasma pistol overcharge to instantly deplete an energy shield.

Decided to look at my Steam wishlist and noticed that one of the games on it went free to play, or perhaps was always free. At any rate, I decided to download it and it's pretty neat.

It's called Endless Sky. The premise is pretty simple. You can get a shuttle craft, freighter, or attack ship and then you can do whatever you want, taking missions, upgrading and buying new ships, hiring crew, trading goods between solar systems, etc. Everything you would hope for in a nice space game. The interesting thing is because it's a top-down 2D game, it allows you to build fleets of ships once you get enough cash to do so. So far, I just started playing a little so I'm nowhere near that, but the possibility sounds really cool.

For the price of free, I can imagine it being the sort of game some people might want to check out.

Since I pirated it all because I don't have money, I also grabbed the DLC and I have to mention my disappointment that once again some of it is essentially cheat codes. You get quests that teleport you to an area and the enemies drop an absurd amount of what you choose- currency, XP, etc. You can also just go buy demons that are even 60 levels above you that would just instakill everything.

the remastered edition is a rerelease catering to new players and co-op, there was a slight graphical upgrade (or so i am told, i cant tell the difference) and some textures were changed, other than that the majority of updates were focused on changing online interaction to make it more like DS3. As somebody who played DS1 primarily for the pvp, I found this immensely frustrating as it pretty much ruined invasions

theres no reason to play remastered over PTDE, unless you are looking to co-op in which case remastered is your game

 No.80708

Played some matchmaking in Halo Infinite. Combat feels really good. Genuinely peak Halo stuff. Matchmaking could use some work; instead of searching by gamemode and choosing to player Slayer or Oddball, you choose to play Slayer or Oddball on a given map. Not only does that mean that less liked maps may be played less, but it could also make matchmaking take much longer. There's also no longer any game lobbies when waiting for matches to start, so you basically just stare at the menu with no input other than "loading" or "matchmaking"; this makes it all the more likely for players to drop out of matchmaking before a match starts without even knowing it because there's no player input to see how close they are to a game starting. I think this is a bigger problem with modern FPSs, but that's no excuse when the formula was solved over a decade ago for how lobbies should work. The only "upside" to this is that instead of being locked into a lobby menu, you're free to look around the settings options and mess around in the meantime, but... You could just as easily do that in Halo 1, 2, & 3 as well, which all did have lobbies. Because of the lack of lobbies, matchmaking also feels stunted. Namely, games do not continually progress once finishing a match. Instead, once the match is over, you're kicked back to the matchmaking screen with a match summary. An odd choice as well is that instead of being able to view the over all match statistics (i.e. seeing each players kills, deaths, assists, etc.), you're shown your own player statistics like seeing your weapon accuracy, medals, kills, and deaths. That's fine, but a more preferable view would have been to just have both your own statistics and the match results viewable at the same time rather than having to switch between panes that the user is given no feedback about. A common solution to this sort of thing is to have automatically switching panes so after a few seconds it switches between viewing the match statistics and then player statistics. Player customization is extremely finicky. There's far too many sub-menus for customization instead of simply having a normal overview of the things most pertinent to player interest, such as showing customization for emblem, armor color, and armor customization all on a single page. Instead, you're given a main area for customization and then 5 or so categories of customization, and then further submenus for aspects of customization. The names of the categories are also misleading. One category, for instance, you would believe to be the main one for changing your armor and color, however, it only gives the option to change whether your spartan has robot limbs. Why does that need it's own entire category? Why could that not have just been a single option within an armor customization area? Emblem customization now is unfortunately dead. You can only select preset emblems and preset colors for said emblems. Because matchmaking lobbies are non-existant, however, I don't even understand why this is even an option. More accurately, I don't understand why anyone would bother with emblem customization if no one is ever going to see it because lobbies don't exist for people to even see your emblem aside from a 5-10 second pre-game animation. Speaking of pre-game animations: loading times. The loading times suck. I have a decent PC, and running Halo Infinite off of my average speed HDD gave several minute loading times just trying to launch into bot matches! I can understand matchmaking itself taking a few minutes, or even the game on launch taking a minute or two to load, but offline bot matches? What the heck!

Frankly, I think an obvious take-away from all these issues is that because arena shooters have largely stagnated in favor of battle royale games, a lot of these issues are from game devs essentially having to redesign the wheel just to get back to where we were a decade ago when it comes to FPS design.

 No.80709

That's... A lot of criticism. Fortunately, it's mainly to do with customization, and menus being cluttered and disorganized or laid out poorly. When it comes to the actual gameplay itself, I couldn't be happier. I had been expecting Halo Infinite to be a boring "enhanced mobility" shooter as was being hinted at years ago before any footage of the game was even out. That is not the case at all. The game plays very tight. The only issue I've noticed, which was an issue with Halo: Reach, is that the maps feel to spread out for certain game modes that have fewer players (4 v 4, 8 v 8, or 8 player slayer). This is mainly due to the introduction of sprinting, since an otherwise smaller map without sprinting could be traversed too quickly, maps need to be made larger so that the same relative amount of time to traverse the map is achieved as prior to sprinting being a feature. Unfortunately, this means that a not insignificant amount of time is spent running around trying to actually find people to shoot at, instead of actually doing any shooting... But, again, once you do find people to shoot at, the gameplay is really good. I haven't tried every weapon, but I think I'm expecting that weapons could use some tweaking; one thing I noticed briefly was that the needler felt very underpowered compared to previous games and seemingly lacked homing projectiles. I'm not too sure, but I wonder if the fact of maps being larger is working to the detriment of the needler because you need to be within a certain distance before projectiles lock on? Much to my surprise, I've ended up liking the assault rifle a lot. In previous games, I've felt like it's woefully underpowered, but the consistent full auto firing time makes it feel like a much better option than burst weapons like the battle rifle, or pistol. It definitely loses in terms of medium to long range encounters where the battle rifle shines best, but in close range, it's definitely very formidable. Playing with the energy sword and rocket launcher was also pretty fun, but I think those are pretty hard to mess us since they're kind of staples of Halo and getting them wrong would sour a lot of people's opinions on the game.

Gameplay is a solid 8.5/10
Menus, and customization - 4/10
Matchmaking is like a 4.5/10

Again, I'm thinking a lot of their devs are probably experienced with battle royale games so arena shooter customization is not on the forefront of their expertise, but the gameplay itself is great and not all tainted by the stench of battle royale. All that said, this is just an open beta, so I would hopefully expect that a lot of my concerns get addressed before the full game launch in about a month.

I played it a few months ago but Paradox have stated they are giving up on it for the foreseeable future so I figured I may as well play it again as there was not going to be an update to wait for.

It's sad, because I think it actually has a lot of potential, it bridges the gap between EU IV and Crusader Kings. The biggest issue it has is a lack of content which is kind of expected for a new paradox game. Every nation plays and feels exactly the same, they don't have any character to them. It makes it even sadder that they shelved it.

Town and map exploration is standard JRPG, but the combat is more action-oriented. Whether it's by touching or enemy or it's one of the games with random encounters you get transported to a separate closed area with your party and fight stuff. It's hard to describe because because people pretty much describe the genre as being like "Tales of", or I guess maybe like Star Ocean?

You can switch between the character you control while the others are AI or you could set them to manual if you want them to do nothing. Unfortunately, they tend to start out very simple and introduce more mechanics later on, which can make the combat kind of boring at the beginning. Aim is usually automatic, but it's not uncommon to unlock a manual mode with new game+.
I'm not going to watch this clip since I'm going to play the game soon I think, but I think it shows the basics... maybe.

I've been playing Myth of Empires, which is basically a survival game set in China.

You start on a PvE world but then you can go to a PvP one so I did. I don't know... I thought to join a guild, they give you their discord and everybody communicates through that, I talked to some guy on it who had me do an interview, I got in but the next day he was gone. I messaged his discord and asked him why he was gone and he said he just could not deal with the drama anymore, okay, I didn't know what to make of it. Very few people use the in game chat, occasionally they contact other clans but that is it, they rarely use or respond to guild chat. I think Discord kind of ruined that, people have their own networks they use instead of the central game network. But even then, they don't actually use the Discord text much, I thought that the whole guild was dead because almost nobody said anything in guild chat but one guy and people did not message in discord much. But then I had to use the voice chat function of Discord to get permission to delete my own structures and that is where I found them all, they were there and talking they just don't message in game and rarely on Discord. I kind of ignored the guild and did my own thing building my own house and not using the base but they were fine with that, though I still ended up helping them a lot by clearing iron mines of mobs and helping mine for them too, even if I would take a quarter or so for myself. We got raided a few times, they smashed outlying buildings and attacked farmers and players that were leaving bases and stuff, so I went to raid myself in turn. I'm not that high a level compared to this guild, I killed one of their NPCs but then got ganged up on by high level players and killed, I joked about it being unfair, they replied about it being war, I said I didn't care if I died I would be back muwhaha they said it was content, it was all fairly jovial. Then a few hours later they raid again using my raid as an excuse even though I done next to nothing and they do much worse all the time and the whole guild goes spastic and syas I didn't have permission to do that , I didn't ask to do that, they tell the other guild they are going to make it right and they kick me.

I don't know. It probably isn't really for me. It seems that 99% of the time you are in a PvP world you are not allowed to PvP, you may as well be in a PvE world at least you would not have to be a part of a guild that way.

I completely forgot this anime was attached to a video game. It's from the Senran Kagura guy so the girls are cute (but not as cute) and it looks like a Mario Kart game on water. Also, I already know of a nude mod for it so that could be fun.

Tales of Arise is so pretty. I'll post some videos now and then, although I haven't taken many so far. Uploading this on catbox because I don't want to murder the framerate or lower the resolution.
This video is showing a boss battle, but more specifically the cool dodges you can do. There really isn't any spoilers here that I can think of.

Geoff's game awards/commercialfest is going on and it's all so boring. Everything looks the same. FPS that look like everything before it, fortnite-like rainbow vomit stuff, and urban vampire/zombie/plague stuff. Well, there's some Korean game with dancing kids, I don't know what that's about.
I don't think I'm bitter, there's just nothing here creative or inventive.

They announced a new Dune RTS and that looks cool.

Oh, that's cool. Did they show any gameplay? It looks nice visually at least.

No gameplay, probably too early in development for that

Huh? They made an anime? I actually played the game. It's nowhere near as good as Senran Kagura, the characters were lacking and so was the gameplay. The characters were not bad but they just weren't that great and there were not that many of them.

Playing Eligor's Spear, a Fire Emblem romhack. My mage got surprised ganked by the boss but other than that it's goin' pretty smooth.

The best way to play GBA games on 3DS is with its native emulator, so there's this program that can turn a GBA rom into a 3DS-compatible one.
Although my 3DS corrupted my SD again, I feel better after making a nice big boober icon for a Pokemon lewd FireRed hack I'm going to be playing on it.

Feelin like I want to get into playing Tarkov again, but it's too intense for me... that and I'm not really a fan of the rogue-like nature of it since I'm not super good at the game...

You don't need to be good at the game. Just play like a rat and avoid as many encounters as you can. I find playing as a Scav a lot more fun since they added the karma system. Even did a couple PMC+Scav extracts which I never thought would have happened. I haven't played since last wipe though.

Is Tarkov a single-player game like STALKER or is it multiplayer? Never figured this out

 No.82319

Multiplayer. I guess there's a single player mode too but you don't get to keep any items or xp, it's just for practice.

 No.82321

It's sort of like STALKER if STALKER was a multiplayer game where you can choose to either be the bandits or your player character. If you choose to be a bandit, you go in with a randomized loadout so there's no risk of losing anything you looted previously. If you play as your player character, you bring in whatever you choose to bring. Each side has a few objectives they need to do before you can leave the map, but if you make it out alive, you get to keep whatever you looted. Beyond the FPS side, there's also a hideout area that you get to build with stuff you've looted where you can passively make stuff like bullets, medkits, and even have a bitcoin farm to passively generate cash. There's also an auction house for buying and selling stuff beyond the usual NPC storekeepers you can interact with and get quests from.

It's a really cool game, and I love the idea of it a lot, but the combat is more on the side of realism, making the game a sort of roguelike shooter.

>karma system
Oh. I haven't played in a long time. I think the last time I logged on was December-ish last year when they game out a ton of free high-tier items because of COVID. I should probably load it up sometime and check it out again.

I just wonder if there is any chance of Obsidian making a new Fallout again now that both Obsidian and Bethesda are under the same umbrella so to speak.

Been playing Noita recently. It's a lot of fun but I keep getting outpaced by the enemies and I can't figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just bad rng with wands and perks.

 No.85304

Honestly, I don't think so. Even though Microsoft has majority ownership, I believe Obsidian would still need to be given a license to produce a Fallout game from Bethesda, which they might not want to do. I suppose Microsoft could force their hand, but they've been very hands-off. It's also just true that the people who made New Vegas are long gone; Outer World's was okay from what I hear, but it was certainly no New Vegas.

Tried out Stellaris over the free weekend. I'm addicted to it now.
