the campaign is pretty long, but there's also a lot of endgame content. there are a total of 10 acts and no higher difficulties for them (there used to be, but that was before they extended the number of acts. there were only 3 when the game first released). they leave you at around lvl 68-73 when you finish them. it can go up to 100 and the rest of that is spent doing maps and league specific stuff. most people rush through acts to get to mapping as soon as possible.

I decided a few weeks ago to get an android emulator and try some games. One of the first ones I tried (and the only I'm still playing) is Last Origin. It's a Korean F2P game that is thankfully not actually as stingy with money as the others I've seen. Hell, you don't need to spend money at all and there's no limited time stuff that requires you to shell out cash or miss out on.
I will say, though, that there is a LOT of grinding, but there's an auto-battle mode so I just have it doing some grinding minimized. This is one the perks of emulating it on PC, I imagine.
Unfortunately, it's not translated and it seems the a fan patch to translate it is outdated and doesn't work. I just posted on 4chan to see if I can get more info, as this is well within my modding knowledge. However, the wikipedia is extensive and I have a tab of it open when I need information.
As for the gameplay, I read someone say "ecchi megaman battle network" or something. I was never big on those Megaman Battle Network games, but now I think I need to try them.
So how do they make money if it's F2P and it's not scummy? Well, the skins are really good. REALLY good.
Uhh... I think I'll make a mp4 or two for this game soon so I can go into more detail.

Some of the guys behind FAF-- which is a fan takeover of Supreme Commander since its official servers (and company) died-- are working on their own RTS that's basically the same thing.
The attached video is an interview with Gyle who is a prominent Supreme Commander caster that I've watched for hundreds of hours probably. (really nice to have in corner of screen).
Something interesting that sticks out to me is when they said something like "You used to need millions of dollars to make video games, but you don't these days". It's the internet equivalent of some guys working out of their garage and they're making something on a technical level that's superior to what took millions of dollars and dozens of people just a decade ago. It's pretty amazing and it reminds me that I need to get off my butt and start applying myself.

I've got my library of games spread across 3 micro sd cards, and the game icon bubbles don't sync between swapping out what sd card I'm using because each time on boot my vita does a "Refreshing database" which scraps the previous icon layout. Likewise, even though I somehow figured out a while ago (and have since forgotten) how to keep icons for games not installed on one to stay on another, I can't just swap the sd card and play games installed on that one because then I'll get an error saying "Please insert the game card to play this title" when I try opening one until I restart my vita, which again, scraps the icon layout. What's even more annoying is that I have so many games installed that I have to restart my vita multiple times to get all of the icons to load. There's a maximum number of pages, so only a set number of icons can refresh onto the home each time (not counting folders), meaning if I have 100 games, and there's only space for 50 icons, I need to put those 50 icons into folders and then restart and put the remaining 50 into folders. It's just all such a pain.
Maybe this problem of hotswapping cards and mantaining icon layouts has already been solved and I just need to check out that autoplugin app, but I have no idea.
No.76949
Figured out how to hotswap the sd cards again. You just have to mount and unmount the card via VitaShell, and then refresh the live area and refresh the license database to save icon layout so it doesn't get reset after rebooting.

I really like Shenzhen I/O. The projects are pretty fun, and definitely require some amount of creative thinking, but the restriction of working with hardware with VERY limited microcontrollers that you program in a sort of pseudo assembly is rather unrealistic. That being said, I think Shenzhen I/O is an easy recommendation to anyone with a programming mindset. If you plan on playing it, you absolutely should go in blind. By its nature, knowing the solution to projects will greatly cheapen your experience if you learn how someone else approached it first. Pic related is technically a spoiler, but it does give somewhat of an idea of the difficulty involved.
However, the difficulty ramp is quite steep. The first few projects are relatively easy, but once you start dealing with multiple inputs and outputs and conditional statements, things start getting a lot more difficult; Shenzhen I/O basically demands that you write fairly optimized code. Unlike with typically programming, you can't just "write your way out" of solving a given problem. Your microcontrollers only have so many lines of code they will accept, and only so many registers for storing values. In other words, you either need to think up an optimized solution as you work, or you need to chain microcontrollers together for completing tasks. A common arrangement is using one microcontroller to perform some operation and/or to store a value, which then gets passed to another microcontroller rather than having everything done on a single chip.
A rather unique part of Shenzhen I/O is that it has an accompanying PDF for use while playing. The PDF contains mock datasheets on each component, as well as general instructions on how the pseudo assembly works and more. If you really want to get into it, the PDF suggests printing out every page and putting them into a binder for a more authentic experience, flipping through pages for information while playing.

That's on top of a real time battle system that rewards comboing attacks while swapping between three different classes. The story itself isn't so bad outside of a desperate need for world building that is not in the form of a text dump, I personally like having an MC that's a total bitch, Sazh is quite likeable with a good subplot and Hope is cute as heck and best boy subplot and the rest I don't really have an opinion on.

Legendary is pretty insane, and I remember constantly dying. On Heroic, I think I only died a few times, mostly due to my own incompetence: stuff like walking directly into a group of enemies, or going into a battle with not much ammo. It's called Endless Sky. The premise is pretty simple. You can get a shuttle craft, freighter, or attack ship and then you can do whatever you want, taking missions, upgrading and buying new ships, hiring crew, trading goods between solar systems, etc. Everything you would hope for in a nice space game. The interesting thing is because it's a top-down 2D game, it allows you to build fleets of ships once you get enough cash to do so. So far, I just started playing a little so I'm nowhere near that, but the possibility sounds really cool.
For the price of free, I can imagine it being the sort of game some people might want to check out.

Since I pirated it all because I don't have money, I also grabbed the DLC and I have to mention my disappointment that once again some of it is essentially cheat codes. You get quests that teleport you to an area and the enemies drop an absurd amount of what you choose- currency, XP, etc. You can also just go buy demons that are even 60 levels above you that would just instakill everything.
Well, at least there's some real DLC, although I'm pretty sure it was Day 1 DLC. Both of these things are already confirmed for 5, unfortunately. It's disappointing that stuff we used to press button combinations for or unlock in the postgame are sold for money.

Played some matchmaking in Halo Infinite. Combat feels really good. Genuinely peak Halo stuff. Matchmaking could use some work; instead of searching by gamemode and choosing to player Slayer or Oddball, you choose to play Slayer or Oddball on a given map. Not only does that mean that less liked maps may be played less, but it could also make matchmaking take much longer. There's also no longer any game lobbies when waiting for matches to start, so you basically just stare at the menu with no input other than "loading" or "matchmaking"; this makes it all the more likely for players to drop out of matchmaking before a match starts without even knowing it because there's no player input to see how close they are to a game starting. I think this is a bigger problem with modern FPSs, but that's no excuse when the formula was solved over a decade ago for how lobbies should work. The only "upside" to this is that instead of being locked into a lobby menu, you're free to look around the settings options and mess around in the meantime, but... You could just as easily do that in Halo 1, 2, & 3 as well, which all did have lobbies. Because of the lack of lobbies, matchmaking also feels stunted. Namely, games do not continually progress once finishing a match. Instead, once the match is over, you're kicked back to the matchmaking screen with a match summary. An odd choice as well is that instead of being able to view the over all match statistics (i.e. seeing each players kills, deaths, assists, etc.), you're shown your own player statistics like seeing your weapon accuracy, medals, kills, and deaths. That's fine, but a more preferable view would have been to just have both your own statistics and the match results viewable at the same time rather than having to switch between panes that the user is given no feedback about. A common solution to this sort of thing is to have automatically switching panes so after a few seconds it switches between viewing the match statistics and then player statistics. Player customization is extremely finicky. There's far too many sub-menus for customization instead of simply having a normal overview of the things most pertinent to player interest, such as showing customization for emblem, armor color, and armor customization all on a single page. Instead, you're given a main area for customization and then 5 or so categories of customization, and then further submenus for aspects of customization. The names of the categories are also misleading. One category, for instance, you would believe to be the main one for changing your armor and color, however, it only gives the option to change whether your spartan has robot limbs. Why does that need it's own entire category? Why could that not have just been a single option within an armor customization area? Emblem customization now is unfortunately dead. You can only select preset emblems and preset colors for said emblems. Because matchmaking lobbies are non-existant, however, I don't even understand why this is even an option. More accurately, I don't understand why anyone would bother with emblem customization if no one is ever going to see it because lobbies don't exist for people to even see your emblem aside from a 5-10 second pre-game animation. Speaking of pre-game animations: loading times. The loading times suck. I have a decent PC, and running Halo Infinite off of my average speed HDD gave several minute loading times just trying to launch into bot matches! I can understand matchmaking itself taking a few minutes, or even the game on launch taking a minute or two to load, but offline bot matches? What the heck!
Frankly, I think an obvious take-away from all these issues is that because arena shooters have largely stagnated in favor of battle royale games, a lot of these issues are from game devs essentially having to redesign the wheel just to get back to where we were a decade ago when it comes to FPS design.
No.80709
That's... A lot of criticism. Fortunately, it's mainly to do with customization, and menus being cluttered and disorganized or laid out poorly. When it comes to the actual gameplay itself, I couldn't be happier. I had been expecting Halo Infinite to be a boring "enhanced mobility" shooter as was being hinted at years ago before any footage of the game was even out. That is not the case at all. The game plays very tight. The only issue I've noticed, which was an issue with Halo: Reach, is that the maps feel to spread out for certain game modes that have fewer players (4 v 4, 8 v 8, or 8 player slayer). This is mainly due to the introduction of sprinting, since an otherwise smaller map without sprinting could be traversed too quickly, maps need to be made larger so that the same relative amount of time to traverse the map is achieved as prior to sprinting being a feature. Unfortunately, this means that a not insignificant amount of time is spent running around trying to actually find people to shoot at, instead of actually doing any shooting... But, again, once you do find people to shoot at, the gameplay is really good. I haven't tried every weapon, but I think I'm expecting that weapons could use some tweaking; one thing I noticed briefly was that the needler felt very underpowered compared to previous games and seemingly lacked homing projectiles. I'm not too sure, but I wonder if the fact of maps being larger is working to the detriment of the needler because you need to be within a certain distance before projectiles lock on? Much to my surprise, I've ended up liking the assault rifle a lot. In previous games, I've felt like it's woefully underpowered, but the consistent full auto firing time makes it feel like a much better option than burst weapons like the battle rifle, or pistol. It definitely loses in terms of medium to long range encounters where the battle rifle shines best, but in close range, it's definitely very formidable. Playing with the energy sword and rocket launcher was also pretty fun, but I think those are pretty hard to mess us since they're kind of staples of Halo and getting them wrong would sour a lot of people's opinions on the game.
Gameplay is a solid 8.5/10
Menus, and customization - 4/10
Matchmaking is like a 4.5/10
Again, I'm thinking a lot of their devs are probably experienced with battle royale games so arena shooter customization is not on the forefront of their expertise, but the gameplay itself is great and not all tainted by the stench of battle royale. All that said, this is just an open beta, so I would hopefully expect that a lot of my concerns get addressed before the full game launch in about a month.

It's hard to describe because because people pretty much describe the genre as being like "Tales of", or I guess maybe like Star Ocean?
You can switch between the character you control while the others are AI or you could set them to manual if you want them to do nothing. Unfortunately, they tend to start out very simple and introduce more mechanics later on, which can make the combat kind of boring at the beginning. Aim is usually automatic, but it's not uncommon to unlock a manual mode with new game+.

You start on a PvE world but then you can go to a PvP one so I did. I don't know... I thought to join a guild, they give you their discord and everybody communicates through that, I talked to some guy on it who had me do an interview, I got in but the next day he was gone. I messaged his discord and asked him why he was gone and he said he just could not deal with the drama anymore, okay, I didn't know what to make of it. Very few people use the in game chat, occasionally they contact other clans but that is it, they rarely use or respond to guild chat. I think Discord kind of ruined that, people have their own networks they use instead of the central game network. But even then, they don't actually use the Discord text much, I thought that the whole guild was dead because almost nobody said anything in guild chat but one guy and people did not message in discord much. But then I had to use the voice chat function of Discord to get permission to delete my own structures and that is where I found them all, they were there and talking they just don't message in game and rarely on Discord. I kind of ignored the guild and did my own thing building my own house and not using the base but they were fine with that, though I still ended up helping them a lot by clearing iron mines of mobs and helping mine for them too, even if I would take a quarter or so for myself. We got raided a few times, they smashed outlying buildings and attacked farmers and players that were leaving bases and stuff, so I went to raid myself in turn. I'm not that high a level compared to this guild, I killed one of their NPCs but then got ganged up on by high level players and killed, I joked about it being unfair, they replied about it being war, I said I didn't care if I died I would be back muwhaha they said it was content, it was all fairly jovial. Then a few hours later they raid again using my raid as an excuse even though I done next to nothing and they do much worse all the time and the whole guild goes spastic and syas I didn't have permission to do that , I didn't ask to do that, they tell the other guild they are going to make it right and they kick me.
I don't know. It probably isn't really for me. It seems that 99% of the time you are in a PvP world you are not allowed to PvP, you may as well be in a PvE world at least you would not have to be a part of a guild that way.

If you choose to be a bandit, you go in with a randomized loadout so there's no risk of losing anything you looted previously. If you play as your player character, you bring in whatever you choose to bring. Each side has a few objectives they need to do before you can leave the map, but if you make it out alive, you get to keep whatever you looted. Beyond the FPS side, there's also a hideout area that you get to build with stuff you've looted where you can passively make stuff like bullets, medkits, and even have a bitcoin farm to passively generate cash. There's also an auction house for buying and selling stuff beyond the usual NPC storekeepers you can interact with and get quests from.
