Does Kissu play the RTS games?
ASSFAGGOTS do not count

 No.7660

I should have just not voted actually. I haven't touched one in at least a year since Stormgate had that beta.

 No.7661

I played a little bit of LARPing in the factions poll thread if that counts

 No.7662

It's been a few years for me also so I don't really know what to answer. I lost interest in RTS when it became a APM thing that people take seriously.

I like them. Supreme Commander and Dawn of War being my favorites. Never played the multiplayer of any of them out of a combination of having no friends and the online space being full of very sweaty people.

Oddly enough Age of empires 2 was one of the first games I ever played
When I was a kid I'd always pick the Persians because I liked elephants
I find the player skill gap in RTS games to be some of the highest of any genre I've played, playing with inexperienced friend is legitimately unfun because with just modest game skill I can easily win 1v5 against them
And then playing with real people or even just the hard mode AI I get fucking creamed as I don't have the nerves for dealing with the early game rushes

Kind of, I play Total War which is an RTS/TBS hybrid. I played a little bit of AoE2 a long time ago but I could never really get into it and always got my ass clapped by an old friend I played with.

Yes, probably played many of the older classical ones. The only major one i know i haven't tried as of date yet is the C&C games.
I mostly just played single player campaign or against AIs though, only very rarely multiplayer with friends. Which is probably one of the reasons i've kind of been shifting over more and more to city builders and factory games or tactical management games and such in later years.
The last actual RTS game i played that i can remember is probably PA, SupCom or TA. Or maybe SoaSE...or wait... does the Homeworld games count as RTS? Then maybe that. Paradox type of games (Stellaris, EU, HOI) doesn't really count as RTS though, right? It's more like 4x strategy i guess...
Anyway, despite all the other games i've played lately, the AoE2 bell alarm or AoM's "Prostagma" will probably live with me until i die.

I'm so dogshit at strategy games, but I've played a few anyway. Got the random urge to play something like warcraft 3 again awhile back and tried spellforce 3, it was surprisingly breddy gud. Half the campaigns are just controlling your heroes(you get to customize your main hero), which was fine by me.

Is ShellCore Command a MOBA/ASSFAGGOTS game?

 No.7680

My most played was definitely Starcraft 2. I was pretty shit at it but I learned how to mass produce marines and medivacs and that carried me to I think platinum rank. Got a lot of angry messages lol. When I was younger I'd sometimes wake up at like 4am to watch the pro Koreans who had godlike skill. Still remember the Life matchfixing controversy and Innovation spamming the stupid OP hellbat drops. The WC3 campaigns and customs were also a lot of fun. I bought the AoE2 remake and haven't had much time to really play it, but it seems fun. I feel like I'd like more RTS games but despite how many years I've played games I've really only dabbled in them. Never could get into mobas despite trying to like Dota

My brain is too slow for RTS, so I switched to turn-based games. Turns out my brain is just bad.

Same, honestly I hate micromanaging troops and somehow staying 5 steps ahead of the enemy, its too stressful

Same. I prefer games like Risk and Civ. I used to play them with my friend but he always rages out about mid-way through the game even if he's on the same team. Four of us were playing Risk online one day sitting in the same room with our own laptops. One guy rages at me because I was placing troops in the only place I could. Which happened to be at his border which I'd already planned not attacking anyway. I was waiting for the other three players to weaken each other since I had a small stack and was stuck between them.

He sees them and starts threatening me and dropping troops beside them instead of staying equal in numbers. I'd drop one to match his stack then he's drop more. Weakening his armies everywhere else.

Eventually, he kamikaze attacks after turning in cards. He had 2:1 advantage against me or something like that. He auto attacked and lost all of them. By the time it was done he had one army left and I still had my original stack there. I just got lucky I guess.

He accused me of hacking the game and wanted to fight right then and there. I declined because that's stupid. Decided not to play with him no more. So did the rest of the group. We never played again. It was the fourth of fifth time he'd raged like that but every other time was online through the chat.

Never understood why he was like that. It's just a game.

Anyway, I prefer turn based to RTS as well.

we should get a game of imageboard risk going

Yeah I'd be up for that. I can't remember the name of the website right now but there is a really good web based risk with tons of maps. Some of them have nukes and everything. You can play on it for free. For $20 or something like that you can play unlimited amount of games at the same time.

There are a few games that have been going for 15+ years on them (maybe longer). You can lurk and watch other people's public games. I found one game where three people have been playing for decades and they all have stacks of 20,000+ troops sitting right next to each other. No one is brave enough to attack so they all sign in once a day to take their turn and place their troops.

I found it: https://www.conquerclub.com/

It's really good. I haven't been on it since the early 2000s but it's really run. They have some really cool maps with custom abilities. You can play on the standard map with standard rules too of course.

Neat they still have my favorite map. Looks like they've modernized the website since I last used it. It used to be set-up like an old school web 1.0 websites with no javascript. New UI doesn't see horrible though. I wonder if they improved how it works when you play and chat.
