China being a lazy ineffective guardian that is occasionally fierce when needed is one of my favorite endearing things. I can't even remember if she was portrayed that way officially, but it's just part of her character. She works well with the 'hidden muscles' concept too where she can rip off her dress and expose a chiseled body with big meaty Chun Li thighs.

In BAiJR, when Aya talks with Meiling about some flowers that suddenly bloomed in garden of SDM, Meiling says that those flowers appeared in between her doing rounds around mansion. She also tells that it took around 30 minutes. Aya is surprised that flowers bloomed so fast out of nowhere and asks if Meiling didn't take a nap during her patrol. The gatekeeper denies, but she is certainly nervous about it. This is one instance of implying that Meiling slacks off that I know of, I don't know if there is anything else in fighters that could also imply something like that.

Her final showdown in Hisoutensoku is that she falls asleep and dreams that she fights a catfish
