I think it might look worse than it really is if this includes every single person visiting. Creators and contributors can be considered active, or more likely to be active, while the majority of lurkers I assume are just guests that took a quick look and then left completely.

People might lurk from dynamic mobile IPs while they're busy. It also might mean that the creator and contributor counts are mobile-inflated, too... The site feels rather fast, so I don't mind however it is.

Not directly, but most post views i open i never actually submit when i'm done, for various reasons (too shy, feels wrong, unrelated to the thread, too stupid, not stupid enough, don't want to, nevermind i misunderstood, changed my mind, what was i doing again?, ran out of time and have to go).
But the result is that there are only a few posts that i've done so far. The ones i had no reason not to post.

I have contributed to a very niche scene once, and even inspired some copycats with my innovations.
However, I eventually grew ashamed of my actions and completely disowned the scene, letting others take credit for what I pioneered. It made me feel much lighter.

I am best as a lurker.

It's one thing not to force posts. If you have nothing to say, don't feel like you need to say anything.
But if you see something and want to reply to it, or have a good idea for a post, then MAKE IT.
