What meditations or rituals can one partake in to deal with an aggravated mind. I'm so annoyed because my brain's been in a haze and the feeling just compounds on itself making me feel worse and worse. I can barely even do anything and it's not for a lack of trying or depression, I legitimately am taking forever to think and the thoughts are being replaced swapped at breakneck speeds.

What's even worse is that I had finally achieved some semblance of tranquility a week ago and now my agitation's back with a vengeance so I have a recent baseline to compare myself of the past day and now to.

Last year I did The Headless Rite for like a week and it caused me to spontaneously enter this weird trance state where all my troubles were just gone.

you could try medidating a bit and just sitting down and closing your eyes to focus on this feeling until it passes, or otherwise focusing on some other presence even if it's an itch in your body

Thanks, I'll try this out.

I think the problem is more that the feeling is from all the things I feel I need to do and anxiety that there's something I'm missing and then I remember something I need to do and don't do it because there's something else I need to do and I choose nothing.

I get scatterbrained very easily, what I read to do was try to write down everything floating around your head when you feel overwhelmed, as well as exercise.

in that case you can do >>93624 and worst case scenario roll a dice a pick one at random, to keep it accounted and break the stalemate

>the feeling is from all the things I feel I need to do and anxiety that there's something I'm missing
Oh yeah, I get that a lot. Last time I just cried my eyes out and talked to someone and cried more until I felt a bit better...
There are other things that help me, like writing things down, drawing and making a schedule to tell myself that I at least have a good overview of the things I need to do and I put a deadline for everything on the list so I know that I can make it all in good time...
Something that also helps me immensely that I really underestimated is just taking a walk around the block. Idk why a simple walk outside helps me so much, but it works somehow.
If you think you're being too soft on yourself, don't try to overcorrect by being too harsh on yourself.

Buy a nice heavy punching bag and look up a guide on how to tape your wrists properly.

This is a real great one. I never thought I'd take interest in boxing but going to classes a few times a week really felt uplifting after being in a huge rut.

Do you partake in the brain damage side of the sport?

No my sessions are usually just mit work and heavybags with some quick core work every 5 minutes. Every few months I might do some light sparring with the coach but thats about it.

It's not exactly a meditation or ritual but Brain Age: Concentration Training helped me with a similar feeling of haze. The exercises are kind of tough but if you stick with it you should see some results.
If you don't have a 3DS, it should run fine on an emulator although I haven't tried that myself.

Aside from meditation you should also try to nip the activities that cause agitation in the mind.
Chances are you have a similar problem to mine where you keep jumping around between tabs and activities on the internet non-stop without really feeling attentative to them. Choice paralysis so to speak, everything you do, after a couple minutes or even seconds you get that tingling feeling where you subconsciously feel like you could be getting something more interesting "elsewhere".
It feels subtle but it wrecks your attention span and mind like nothing else in the world. I've only recently started working on it so I haven't figured out the most reliable solution yet, but from what I can tell,
> pick something to do and stick with it, preferably for the whole day or at least a large portion of it. A sort of broad schedule. IE Friday you focus on one game or reading manga or learning how to cook or whatever.
> if you feel like the mind is slipping, reluctantly speaking you'll just have to step away from the screen for like 15 minutes or until you feel like your focus is under control again
>no multitasking. No multitasking. NO MULTITASKING.
> I think this vaguely counts as meditation, but listen to relaxing music with your eyes closed. Avoid music with lyrics. Game from the embeded video has good OST for this sort of purpose, 少女と年の差、ふたまわり as well but nobody uploaded the OST to youtube. Just look for something of this nature and keep a playlist on your PC for when needed
> try keeping a written down list of what improves or makes the situation worse. brain fog makes you forgetful so a written down list can help you keep track of the more subtle things and you might notice a pattern
> improving diet obviously always helps. I'm trying to get into cooking properly and usually when i pick something to stick to for a day its typically watching a ton of japanese videos about meal prep (作り置き) because english videos on the topic are absolutely god awful. making food for a whole week or beyond also clears out potential stress later.

Stretching and yoga is also very surprisingly effective, especially for the legs (in my case at least). I've noticed that there's this lump of concentrated... "Sludge"? of exhaustion in my legs and upper thighs in particular. I'm guessing that something about my usual sitting posture does something that puts more work in that area than other parts of my body, but not enough to notice consciously. You know you stretched real good when your face gets hot and tears come out, as if you squeezed the weird listlessness out through your head.
Obviously, make adjustments to suit your self and start off broadly at first, see what works for you.

This might sound like a meme but try the Wim Hof Method, specifically the breathwork stuff. The Youtuber Kitaro Waga makes the best guides. Helps a ton with instant stress/anxiety relief in an easily accessible way.
