>>90940I still see him everyday on steam playing Overwatch.
He just stopped posting because he couldn't take the bullying anymore. I actually liked him. We even played the Monster Hunter Rise demo together and he seemed like a nice guy, but I guess I dropped my spaghetti too hard in the voice chat lol

Kaiki is so cool. The coolest.

>>90948It sounds like a joke at first, but I think gamers back then were able to learn typing faster than others due to the video game repercussions of typing slowly. Tangible results.

>>90952yeah, he's actually the only enjoyable thing about the monogatari franchise after Bakemonogatari. I watched all of it, and only Kizumonogatari and Kaiki were enjoyable. Everything else was boring slop.

any arc where Shinobu/Kiss-sot is a focal point is the best

I liked Bake and then I watched a few episodes of Nise years later and thought they were awful and then I never touched Monogatari again.

>>91119WE'VE HAD THIS DISCUSSION BEFORE
if you repeatedly see people saying kaiki is the best or even the only good part of monogatari, and your retort is that he's not developed like the other characters, then surely you must understand that the problem lies precisely in the way in which monogatari goes about carrying out their development
No.91121
>>91114why do think that?
No.91125
>>91121there are several parts where everything slows down to a crawl for the sake of going over her backstory, or her explaining the details of oddities, and both of these are when monogatari is at its lowest
kabuki for example is easily one of the worst arcs
i much prefer when she's not the focal point, but has enough presence to generate fun moments with araragi
No.91128
>>91119Well if you're saying that depth means needing a larger amount of words to summarize, I can't say you're wrong for thinking that. I don't think that that definition necessarily correlates it strongly with quality though. Kaiki may not be try to tackle as many ideas as Araragi, but he completely nails all of what he does do. He doesn't change as much as the younger cast - and he shouldn't, he's a grown man - but he does have a full perceivable self with habits, priorities, desires, persona, etc. I may be rambling now, but he is clearly someone who has changed before even if we don't witness as much of that firsthand.
