I never played Steins;Gate, and other games in the series, because I thought it contained extreme ero content which I hate but looking on VNDB now it doesn't seem to contain ero content at all. Was I wrong the whole time? There are a number of VNs that I would like to read for the story but I find the ero content too upsetting.

now my problem is that i don't know which version of steins;gate to play, does any version have story content that's not in other versions?
No.90539
>>90536Yeah, just ecchi stuff as the other post said. There's a scene with them nude in the bath, but they're covering their bits. Overall it's not very ecchi, but there's some fanservice parts like that.

but if you like them consider buying them since mages did go bankrupt a few years ago and if you want more sci;adv VNs then buying them is the way to show them.

Steins;Gate 0 and Psycho Pass. I was playing both on Vita. I stopped Steins;Gate 0 after maybe 5 hours? It was just too depressing a scenario for me. Hard to want to play a game where the protagonist's speech and in er monologue is constantly bemoaning existence... Psycho Pass I was enjoying, but it was a lot of lore dumping and just naturally fell off completing because my Vita's all whacked up and I need to redownload everything and fix it's database or whatever...

I almost only read yuri.
Most of it isn't translated so I had to learn Japanese to read more yuri because I've already read almost all the manga and seen all the anime.
Spoilered NSFW pic is from the futa rape VN. Not a spoiler, just sad.
Out of my most recent reads the last two weeks after I got back into reading VNs:
- Natsuzora Asterism (JP only). I only read the Momiji true ending route. I really liked it, but for some reason I did not feel like reading the other routes. It's a bit long, but a great story when it finally wraps up. Momiji is a cute miko so I obviously picked the best girl route.
- The most fucked up one (and more difficult read) was definitely Sengoku no Kuroyuri ~Futanari Hime to Reizoku no Shoujo~ (JP only). It's about some princess in the sengoku period who doesn't want to marry a man and takes a strange medicine to help her be able to have children with women. It gives her a penis and she pretty much rapes and abuses girl over and over. This is all in the summary and what made me want to read it out of morbid curiosity so I think I can say this much. It was pretty awful to read, but I also couldn't stop and I am not sure if I liked it or not. I bought the two sequels.
- Yuri Love Slave: Watashi dake no Iinchou (JP only) is a pretty enjoyable love story, it's also filled with ero all over the place. It's hard to beat gyuru x megane, I liked it. Probably the one I enjoyed most reading the past two weeks.
- Yuriiro Frottage (JP only) is fairly short, a quiet girl is being very strongly pursued by her kouhai. Very cute.
- Himitsu no Kiss wa Amaku Yasashiku (JP+Offical ENG TL has a kinda teacher student relationship. Only kind of, she's not a real teacher yet and not much older.
Just about to finish Tsuyuchiru Letter ~Umi to Shiori ni Amaoto o~ (JP+Official ENG TL). It's a short and sweet VN about a girl receiving a blackmail letter to date a younger girl at school.
I've yet to read some of the top rated classics like the FLOWERS series, but I've read a bit of Hanabira series at least.
Sorry for sperging out, I have done almost nothing but read VNs the past days.

>>90613I've been hoping for Sengoku no Kuroyuri to get translated. It'll probably be quicker for me to start taking learning jp than just wait for a translation. Is it a hard read for a person around N4 level?

I finally got around to playing the Muv-Luv trilogy after picking up all the games on Humble Bundle a while ago. I didn't really know what to expect going in but I wound up liking it a lot, easily my new favorite VN. I was considering going right into one of the spinoff games but I have a feeling that they'll have a hard time living up to Alternative. Think I'll play Kazoku Keikaku next.
Class Rep is best girl BTW (By The Way)
No.90664
>>90644I think it will be pretty hard for you even with textractor because of the weird writing. Doesn't mean you can't read it though, just means your comprehension won't be as high and it will be very slow. It uses a fair bit of archaic grammar and a bit of dialect and a lot of obsolete words for certain parts.
I was able to read it just fine finishing the vast majority of N5-N1 grammar and 10k vocab, had to look up some grammar but not much (had yet to come across kansai-ben とうない=たくない for example). It was mostly just new words for me when they were talking about war, and sexual sadism stuff because I usually don't read such novels.
Watching all 95 episodes of Rurouni Kenshin probably helped more than N2+N1 grammar, but I don't know because I alredy finished the grammar decks so I don't really think what level something is. I either understand it or I don't. You should really grind through N3 grammar as soon as possible, N4 to N3 is a huge jump in comprehension for pretty much all of Japanese media. After that while you do need to learn more grammar, vocab(+kanji) is far more important.
If you want to read it, just read it. In the beginning of Rurouni Kenshin each episode took me an hour because of lookups slowing me down. Near the end it was halved. Persistence and hours spent total is key.

>>90885>I want to get into VNs but have no idea where to start. I like weird and a bit fucked up stuff I guess.I suggest taking a look at OP's list! You probably already know S;G. now imagine that, but with more conspiracy theories and denpa (things that were cut from the S;G anime because they have to do with the series-wide lore), paranoia, and more, as you said, fucked up, without spoiling.

No.91982
>>91214Ok, I finished the main ending. I'm a bit confused by the final scene and didn't like the final fight scene too much for similar reasons to why I disliked parts of Heaven's Feel -
characters overcoming adversary just through force of will, but Takumi's sword was pretty cool. I understand this is part of fantasy conflict and I can swallow it, but it could be done a bit more elegantly. The story overall is pretty cool and I hope they tie up a number of loose ends like
the meaning of the Ir2 equasion, the Shougun chatlog disparity, Suwa's involvement, the influence of Gero Froggies etc. in the subsequent routes.
Also, I'm trying to remember the name of a particular VN which features cover art of an angel (?) like girl with long brown hair, eyes closed and praying (?) against a white background surrounded by tentacles. I seem to remember it not being translated and being somehow related or similar to Tsui no Sora.
