Has there been any good (non-porn) Touhou fangames released recently? I used to pay attention to this stuff, but kind of got sidetracked. Mario, Sonic and Touhou are basically the big fan game "genres" out there. I can't read Japanese, though, so text-base

Did Shinmyoumaru ever get the attention she deserves? I think she'd be perfect for a Zelda clone game.

If you're looking at good and somewhat recent, there's lost branch of legend which is a card battler (still early access), and hero of ice fairy which is a 2d platformer shooter. Both are really good and have english translations.

I don't know about any recent ones. The last ones I played were Genso Wanderer which is a rougelike and Double Focus which is a platformer. I quite liked both of them.

Genso Wanderer has gotten numerous expansions over the years.

Yeah, I played Genso Wanderer a lot. Played through most of it back on the vita and then was surprised and a bit annoyed when I saw how much other content it received on other systems. I guess it's a good problem

that was probably Genius of Sappheiros it was pretty popular back in the day. DoD was made by the same circle, but it was never properly translated.

That must have been it. I'm a bit weird with "fan-made" RPGs, but maybe I shouldn't be. I guess if people can make tons of stuff in RPGMaker then non-pornographic stuff should be fine.

I second this ADiA rec. If you like old school megaten or first person dungeon crawlers in general, it's incredibly well done.

Mystia's Izakaya is pretty comfy, but it can become somewhat of a slog if you want to do all of the content. That shouldn't be an issue if you take a break between the main game and each of the DLCs though.

Luna Nights is another big one if you're into metroidvanias. Branch of Legend is also an option if you like deckbuilders.

Check out Touhou Valkyrie of Phantasm and Spell Carnival
Those are pretty recent and relatively high budget for 2hu fangame
