one of the better anime of the decade

 No.81467

>>81464
really? i don't think it did anything crazy
as in, i like that it has progress in the characters' relationships but at the same time it speedruns through them, and i don't believe it really breaks the mold of a romcom

 No.81468

>>81467
execution is perfect

 No.81469

>>81468
definitely disagree with that, because of the speed
most of the moments that would give it greater emotional weight are essentially offscreened in the form of a background story the characters already are familiar with (i.e. a dramatic "i've always liked you!" for a pair of people we've only seen interact for ten-twenty minutes) and the main relationship of yanami and warmwater gets stuck in regular romcom hell especially after she's dropped in favor of the other makeines

 No.81470

uh huh... you just ignore all the good parts and focus on the few things which are less than amazing... yes.. definetly just a generic anime not worth your time.. uh huh

I don't need to convince you why something is good, especially considering you watched it full of biases. I need to convince the other people who aren't as jaded that it's worth watching.

Meanwhile you are trying to convince people not to give it a try. Why would I try to give you more room to convince people not to watch anime?

Romance is gay so I won't watch it.

i enjoyed makeine and think it's one of the best from this season... that doesn't mean i'm going to ignore what i consider to be some major issues

and the protagonist is just friends with the girls

 No.81480

what's kind of neat about it is it's romance told from the male narrator involving girls who weren't able to win. And the music and animation are all great and voice actors were passionate about doing the job well. From what I see it adapted the light novel's characters well.

>the main relationship of yanami and warmwater gets stuck in regular romcom hell
Except there isn't any real romance between them. They just become friends and help each other through their issues. The show does tease it a few times, but as far as the characters are concerned it's nothing more than moments where they think "hey, maybe dating this person is a possibility" before the moment passes, there are no attempts at pushing things beyond friendship and all the pining is from the makes towards their old crushes.

the underlying assumption is that something will happen, unless the volumes that come after this consist of setting up a makeine rehabilitation center for new people or things getting more dramatic for the couples that have formed, because otherwise i can't see where the story would go from here

One thing that stuck out to me while watching is that it felt weirdly fast paced, almost as if it was skipping past or breezing through content from the LNs. But I'm not familiar with the source material so I can't confirm that.

 No.81487

>>81474
you should be ignoring these very minor issues

 No.81488

hmm, no, nothing explicit happens and people are as usual fighting over the implication of who warmwater will end up with between yanami and basori
>>81486
looks like it adapted on average one chapter per episode, with episode 11 lining up with the end of volume 3, and that 12 was original
can't say how faithful to the source it was beyond that, here's sky's translations if you want to check for yourself:
