kinda. The thing is that if anime fighting games you have four options when defending:
- Block Low
- Block Standing
- Press a quick button to interrupt between attacks
- Prevent throws
And the slayer guy has ways to obscure which type of option you should do. So the swordude mostly picked right, but then when he picked wrong he launches a large combo using slayer guy's potential to do lots of damage

slayer-guy also has the DLC buff right now where newly released characters are made good to get people into the game off of someone who does the fundamentals easier, meanwhile long running characters have to actually play the game

Ah yes. This is the part where I'm the bad guy because I'm angry they ruined a series I cared about for over 25 years. Carry on then I guess. You'll never get me to admit this is a fighting game. At best it's a party game. Which is fine. But if the mechanics were any good they wouldn't have had to take an existing franchise and ruin it to get it to sell. Nor would they have had to resort to an obvious social media "lets piss everyone off" campaign.

If you wanted Guilty Gear but easier Blazblue was created for exactly that reason. To hell with ArcSys. They stole everything Mori ever created and now they coast along on meager profits from people that never cared about the company in the first place. Like everything else I loved it screwed over the core fan base to appeal to people outside of it. Now it'll die a slow death and I'm sure both IPs will be whored out in as many ways as possible before the Chinese enviably buy the rights and all these beloved characters meet the same fate as the SNK ones.

You should feel bad that you gave them money. That's all I'm saying

That's fair, but... no one here is responsible for that. If people are having fun playing Game A then I think it's okay for people to play Game A. The "Stop having fun!" stuff only makes the world less fun. Personally anything newer than the PSX days aren't that fun for me with the reversal anti-grab XXX super jump extreme breaker MK2 stuff.

GGML on PS1 is more broken and absurd than any other fighting game I can think of. It is exactly the thing you are describing.

Since idk how much time I can invest in this game, I might stick with her since she doesn't seem to be a high execution character. From what I've noticed after getting some games in yesterday, it's mostly understanding the rekka rps and being able to confirm into a combo that leads to a setup. Also not getting hit, very important.
