Touhou empires (age of empires but touhou) has a free demo on steam currently
As it's a demo it's only available for the next three days and there's only three playable factions (Hakurei shrine, Scarlet devil mansion and Hakugyokurou)
But it is free and we can make private lobbies with up to 6 players if anyone wants to try playing it together

They do less damage at close range and do half as much as damage to cavalry
Heavy cavalry have like three times as much health as normal cavalry, so they counter grims even harder
Mage fairies do like X5 times damage to them, though they're awkward because they're cheaper (less strong) but take almost as long to create as grims, if you want to use them you should build two mage academies
Also both grimoires and mage fairies have a quirk where they gain a slow down effect to fire, if you trigger them to attack and then back off they can't keep up
Despite saying all that shit I do agree that grimoires are overpowered in that creating them is always a good idea, especially because they tend to trade unit kills before going down
I hope cavalry units get an attack bonus against them in the future

Alice's spellcard is summoning a bunch of hourai dolls to fight
Her age up ability makes alice houses more cheap
The idea is that her spell card is good for stalling and her upgrades are good for cultivating a strong economy
