not anon but i don't understand what the perceived problem is with the filesystem. i've had horseshit crashes for variety of reasons mostly power related, i think at least 100 times between years by now on my laptop, and the filesystem always saved itself with the automatic fsck at boot every time.
arguably the most performance hit you're going to get is the hyperthreading being disabled by default, because it's a serious vulnerability issue that even the linux kernel recommends disabling (even though they keep it enabled by default), but you can re-enable it easily (see their FAQ). but even then, the FAQ says it's not really true that hyperthreading boosts performance and it can worsen it in some cases. tbh switching from arch to openbsd i don't notice perfomance differences, maybe it's even better because i don't use DEs anymore.
battery life IS inferior to linux like all the other BSDs though.
