i use a dumb phone. if my country had not gotten rid of public payphone booths, i would live without a phone.
in the past i used postmarketOS, but i found out it's a script kiddie project the hard way, and at that point you're better off making a portable SBC yourself with a saner architecture and OS. I do not trust David and his grapheneOS given his past incoherency on his twitter and his stances on security and closed source software. the entire grapheneOS dev team seems to have a weird cultlike reverence for microsoft and apple closed corporate security approaches and they go and preach the same gospel catchphrases everywhere they post.

Anyways, the core issue at hand is that cell towers triangulate you very easily, so it kinda makes all those custom privacy ROM useless in my point of view. just use a laptop instead, chances are you were not going to do anything productive anyway without a physical keyboard, because smartphones were made to passively consume and not to produce and contribute, which is how people should interact with the internet instead. And i guess i get it if you use it to emulate old stuff, but i have modded portable consoles.
as a side note i absolutely cannot stand touch screens anymore after months of not using one. they are the most disgusting thing ever.
