Doesn't every parent want their child to get higher education?

I went to uni in another region but my dad went nostalgia mode because that's where he grew up and asked me if I'd be down to let him move with me and I agreed. He paid for everything. Then my sister gave birth and he ended up spending all of his time at her place to help with the kids while still paying rent for me so I ended up with a place much larger than I ever needed all for myself and for free. I stayed on my computer in my room the entire time though.

>>33292Mostly just because that's what I'm used to. I liked my room, house, area, and I haven't had any friends in high school either so being excluded from social circles and stuff didn't really worry me, I don't really get lonely. I feel drained being in a room with others so I just wanted to minimise how much discomfort I'd feel and have a place I can feel comfortable and relaxed in for when I get back. At the end of the day, big changes like that are really scary, especially if you've never done so before and it's easy to want to avoid them and keep things the same as long as you can. I must admit that not wanting to pick and choose between which figures I would get to take when I moved was also a part of it.

I didn't go to university. I have been a NEET most of my life from the end of high school.

Freshman year I stayed in a dorm and was placed in a "suite-style" room with 4 other guys and actually got along very well with all of them even though I barely talked to anyone in highschool. It was basically 3 bedrooms connected to 1 living room. I shared the bedroom with 1 other guy which I was worried about but did not end up actually having any issues beyond having to wait for him to go to class before I could fap once in a while. I can imagine it being hellish if you're stuck with a bunch of jerks but for me it was a great experience.
3 of them continued to live together after that and invited me as well but instead I got an apartment with a guy I met on 4/jp/ and gradually fell out of touch with the guys. I often wonder if I would eventually have transitioned into a full norm if I stuck with them rather than continue deeper down the otaku path like I did.

Was with parents first, then I dropped out and got into another college, moved out, and now I'm with roommates and it fucking sucks.

Was the same in college but we couldn't afford another vehicle so it was either that or riding public transport and I could never ride the bus...
