this IP has nothing but shit-stirring posts on it and this one got reported for being the most egregious and antisocial

Not to be rude, but what's the value in keeping a repeat offender like that around? Personally, I could do without such poison.

If a post doesn't get reported we don't read it.

If the community can't handle these types of people any additional growth will be based around us having to deal with every personal disagreement and make our own judgement on threads we aren't interested in.
I wasn't going to delete it or more until someone involved in the thread reported it.
Cool felt like deleting it from a thread lurker's report so that's fine as well

i reported it based on a simple criterion: does op's post do anything but insult someone? can its ideas be discussed? would paying attention to it generate any kind of positive impact at all? the answer to all of these is "no", ergo he should neck himself
people shouldn't be driven away over something so worthless

That's definitely not true, but stuff can slip through.
The main thing is we can't read people's minds. If people don't report things then the assumption is that they're enjoying a post or at least tolerate it as being part of the freedom of imageobards. Even if we end up not deleting a reported post, it lets us know what posts are bothering people. Traditionally kissu can turn negative posts into positive reactions and people do tend to love arguing so it's hard to know when to step in.

I'm a mod that values harmony and happiness above freedom and shitposting, but I can't enforce those ideals or it ends up limiting participation so it's a balancing act.
