Why dont gachaniggers just stay on 4/jp/? They love that slop there

Deleted by cool-guy from >>>/amv/5227 Post No. 15454 from thread 5227

 No.31016

FUCK gacha

 No.31017

Don't enter a serious thread if you have nothing to contribute...

 No.31018

>>31017
Oh and I did get a report for the first post for "kimo". It's a thread derail where instead of people talking about things they like people are ignoring the OP subject to rant about something else.

 No.31020

I think there should still be like 10 more posts deleted from the thread just to clean it up, the thread has an entire monitor height of non-VN talk now.

>>>/amv/15465
>There's a thread to complain about gacha already
There's a dedicated umamusume thread too >>11054 yet he chose to post it here where it sticks out like a sore thumb.
I don't think anyone here wants to see it filled with gacha so people are calling him out for what they perceive to be unwanted behavior. It's not a "dont ever talk about it" grievance, it's a "post it in another thread" grievance. I'll post about a new VN when it comes out in hopefully february.

>>>/amv/15461
Gacha in VN thread can be changed though. It's as simple as enough people saying it belongs in another thread before it becomes a VN+Gacha thread which would result in it quickly becoming just a gacha thread. You have to forgive people for being protective of a dying medium so it doesnt get overrun by a new medium. Fear causes strong emotional reactions which is probably why that one guy got really mad. It's understandably infuriating when your hobby becomes changed and you're told to just get over it. Why not just have a gacha thread? I'd actually look at it instead of getting upset.

 No.31021

Just to be clear im not gonna throw a tantrum if you post gacha there, but I don't feel bad for saying VNs shouldn't have artificial limiters and lottery drawings. Normal visual novels work like this: Buy the thing, read it, done.
Gacha is where you visualize that meme of the guy who like 3 summersaults and a backflip and breakdowns instead of just doing one normal roll forward, standing up and smiling.

 No.31022

Yeah, that's fair. I need to take a nap and in the meantime I'll think of what to do, whether to move it into a different thread or just delete it or something.

 No.31025

Fuck all of you. I try to find people who share my hobbies and you treat me like trash.

 No.31026

>>31025
I'm trying to think of what to do to please everyone, but I don't think it can be done. I've got about 5 hours of sleep over the past 50 hours so I'm basically just agreeing with what anyone says as my mind isn't capable of forming deep thoughts currently.
I did comment on the Uma clips because I like them, but it seems to upset other people. This is one of the downsides to the general format: people want things compartmentalized instead of spontaneous. They want a specific thing in Thread A and a specific thing in Thread B. This includes people that want to pretend it's still 2005.
I do like seeing you post about the Umas, although I don't always have much to say except "That's cute and where is Oguri Cap?!" since I don't know the mechanics.

Maybe just let people get meta out of their system across three threads now I guess...

 No.31027

How about we just kick out all the /jp/ people who want the site to be their ideal /jp/ and can't handle others.

Half of them left because they can't stand seeing vtubers exist and just have minor disagreements with the mod team they've cooperated with for years.

 No.31028

Frankly every year I mod the site the more I realize that 4chan's mod team is right but the people at the top are incompetent.
No one deserves any respect or reasonable doubt. They are all trolls who should be axed. There will never be a shortage of people who need a stable site. And there will never be a shortage of people who want to run the site incorrectly.

 No.31029

I did delete the aggressive shitpost-y posts while leaving the meta argument. I don't know what else I can do. I'd really like to sleep on this before making any major decision, but after thinking about it more in my compromised state I don't think anything else needs to be done.
I vastly prefer threads like >>>/jp/109356 and I'm reminded that I need to get to making a Ar Tonelico/Ciel /amv/ thread soon...

 No.31030

>>31029
By "prefer" that thread I mean it's something spontaneous that people of multiple interests and hobbies can partake in without some sort of purity test

 No.31031

>>31029
Then go to sleep. I will still be here in a few hours.

 No.31032

I wish I had really anything to say about this, but I don't. I tried my best to get into the game to try and see if I could share the hobby but it never clicked with me because I did enough dailies in WoW to get tired of ever doing them again (outside of work). I don't need more unfulfilling tasks in my life, to me that's what gacha represents alongside perpetuating the wealth gap in video game form. Horse armor and That Retarded Horse already had me sick of microtransactions before mobile games like Clash of Clans and whatnot came along to introduce the horrid systems we treat as normal today. Gacha is pretty much exactly the same but with the chance that you don't even get the upgrade for the money you spend on it so that it can extract maximum capital during its existence. I don't think anyone should be surprised that a system which survives off the backs of exploiting whales and perpetuating that terrible societal gap nets an instant negative reaction from anyone already getting screwed by it.

I think the Umamusume anime and manga are cool and a good use of the capital cygames makes from the gacha. But the games themselves are just something for people that can stomache gacha and I'm not one of them. I'd much rather moderate based on what people can actually do on their own rather than just what they can do for exclusively me because I can maybe discover something new from them instead. And those impassioned by a series are far and away better at actual discussion of it compared to those that take only a shallow interest in the topic.

 No.31033

Ok. So do you support people talking about visual novel style content in the visual novel thread or not?

 No.31034

>>31032
Which I guess is also unfortunate that I see how much you like and are passionate about Uma Musume and I feel a bit bad I can't share the same link to it that you do.

>>31033
Personally I think general VN generals are a terrible concept and lead to fights like this so that's why people should make threads for the games themselves even if they get little replies because it's the same as if posting in a general just with more space to get replies from people. VNs are an experience not dissimilar to literature so the entirety of the text is something to be taken into consideration, and not which character you happened to have enough money/time to roll so you could get their bonding event. Anyone can pick up and play a VN to experience the same story in a day, for a gacha you'd need to spend a couple months to usually guarantee yourself a similar experience, but even then events come and go that only those actively keeping up with the game will see so I don't think that they're remotely similar in that sense. It's like talking about The Wire vs General Hospital in a TV thread. Both are technically the same medium, but vastly different. And I wouldn't really know how to respond to someone getting side-eyed in a discussion for it, especially if to them it's a great experience and they don't see the difference.

 No.31038

>>31034
I guess it's even dissimilar to General Hospital really because after talking about that example with someone else they brought up how soaps are sorta a drop in and watch along with the current thing. Really it's probably most like WoW then in that sense where the game is constantly changing and past expansions are lost in the process.

 No.31039

>>31034
So you support posts about visual novels in the vn thread regardless of where it comes from

 No.31040

>>31039
Sure, the comparison is valid discussion about the meta of VNs, but I'm also not a fan of gacha so I'm not opposed to people giving it kuso until it can improve its public image from virtual slots for characters made to extract wealth.

 No.31041

And I mean it was probably self-evident what would happen anyways so I'm not sure why you wanted to do it in the first place in that thread...

I posted what I liked in hopes others would like it

Well that's what I was hoping was the case, so that's good.

 No.31044

Ok... So I did something you think was great but I should feel bad for doing it because it was from a gaccha game which you think is permitted in the thread yet I should eat abuse for no reason because what I like has casino like monetization, despite how the main story content is free to play

 No.31045

>>31044
I think if you put some girls and a story into a vegas casino to follow along with as a fun side addition people would still be pissed at it for perpetuating gambling.

It's just a black mark on the product like AI involvement, except this one will probably never fade with time.

Humans gonna human. You think this way and others think that allowing gacha will cause it to subsume a thread for slower to come out and with limited content series.
