音MAD Anonymous 06/02/25 (Mon) 09:53:15 No. 155361
I just noticed that the last 音MAD thread seems to have vanished, so I decided to make a new one.¥ Post and / or discuss 音MAD of all styles Feel free to post random videos or your own creations! YTPMVs are allowed as well.¥ Talk about the culture (and relevant sub-cultures) General culture and sub-cultures such as Gachi, KYM, Cookie☆, (...)¥ Talk about anything related to the process of making Such as questions, tips, discoveries, (...) Attached is what I consider to be the perfect showpiece for a revival. I'd like to give a little context and share my excitement about this video in particular: As was previously discussed in the last thread, for better or for worse, 音MAD have changed a lot over the past 10+ years. This maker - presumably new blood, registered sometime between late 2018 and late 2020 - uploaded this masterpiece almost 4 years ago, combining two classic NND staples (Last Brutal Sister Flandre S and Spidama) into what feels like an homage to NND's original 音MAD culture. The composition features various techniques that spawned from other popular Flandre S uploads, both old and new, and pays respect to at least two Flandre S x Spidama uploads that came before it, but got deleted due to copyright issues. The japanese comments unanimously celebrate this "return to form" by leaving sweet comments on how emotional / nostalgic the video made them feel and advertising it with points, showing that a more classic approach to making is still very much appreciated and in demand.

>>155361 This thread reminds me. Have you seen the nico nico threads on 22chan's /www/? They're pretty detailed.

>>155362 Thanks for mentioning them! I have, I found the board through a post on Kissu and have been visiting every once in a while, though the activity sadly seems to be a little rough.

>>155365 I actually just now read the entirety of that thread for the first time. I've never been huge into Gachi and just in general have only really been consuming content from the sidelines, but that is some rather impressive and extremely interesting research that anon seems to have done, even providing sources. I know that the western community has been doing a lot of crowdsourcing for these cultures in private, though that anon seems to be a purist and might've just done all that digging by himself.
Somewhat unrelated, but there are also people like Nameless Rumia, possessing an insane amount of background knowledge on things that I assume happened a couple of years before their time, though I might very well be wrong in his case. It feels especially surreal when those people turn out to be much younger than you.

>>155365 It's a place where people's points and arguments don't go unchallenged. However, the site does discourage low quality posts, like ragebait and shitposting (outside of a specific board). An anon I spoke to from a live townhall, said that 22chan is basically an "anti-imageboard" in the modern sense; where stereotypical imageboards like 4chan are full of ragebaiters and tourists not wanting to assimilate into traditional internet culture to the point where it is not the same 4chan as the one the internet revered back in the classic era. The staff seems rather protective into making sure a lot of what makes modern internet culture awful stays out, and completely stays out, but it comes at a cost of activity since most modern internet users have very low attention spans, poor social/communication skills, and lack desire to explore and learn various interests compared to the internet of old.
>>155366 It's clear that anon is a dying breed of otaku that is over-obsessed to an unhealthy degree because nerds and geeks back in the day showed absolute genuine care and sincerity, or told you to fuck off and either: lurk more, or find something else you're interested in, and don't come back until you actually give a shit about (insert subject matter here). There's still plenty of other threads not limited to gachimuchi you can lurk, so I'm not sure why you limited yourself to that one. Just go explore and share stuff you find interesting in threads already made for your certain interest, or make your own thread if you searched hard enough to find one you don't find appropriate to share in. Be the change.

>>155361 I had the previous thread open in a tab and wanted to at a later point in my free time browse it at my leisure only to find it gone when I went to go do that today
I only had one shot and I missed my chance to blow. That opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo

Why is there so much Russian Gachi?

>>155371 Gachimuchi went through this interesting cultural handoff:
Japan -> West -> China&Russia.
The Japanese focused on elaborate video editing, then Westerners leaned on audio mixing. Later the Chinese did some sort of hybrid, and Russians/slavs mostly focused on song edits, which is the most recent (and probably final) form of Gachi content.

>YTPMVs are allowed as well. Phew, i was worried i'd had to start sorting through my very unsorted music remixes folder for specifically 音MADs...
>>155365 >>155383 Speaking of ievan polkka and gachimuchi, i love when cultures cross in 音MADs/YTPMVs, be it japanese finding a finnish polka song or a swedish disco dance song, or westerners finding semi-obscure japanese songs or some other obscure thing. The remixes and further exchanges that comes out of it can be pretty fun and creative.
Like, i never expected there'd be a remix using american dad and シャルル/バルーン, but here we are.
>>155376 Not OP, but i'm pretty sure it is.

>>155383 You could say this for Touhou too. Except maybe replace Russia with LatAm and China.
