>>143478no, all of my videos are relatively short clips from video games (no commentary, no editting, etc). honestly, most of them aren't worth uploading but when something neat happens in the game, I feel like uploading it in that moment. it's for my own amusement, not anyone else.

>>143481>as my friends.Yeah... That's one big thing about YouTube. With YouTube there's an inherent power difference between creator and watcher, and even if they have a Discord to discuss their interests, it always turns clique-y fast. With imageboards everyone is more or less on the same level.

I don't think it has great conversion towards new posters but I guess we get some views out of it

I've always wanted to make frag videos in whichever game I happen to be playing at the time but find that my gameplay isn't interesting enough to be worth developing into a video, so I just end up with short clips of video games and an occasional video I've taken while travelling. Recently, I've felt like I should try and create a successor to the Asian Shoegaze channel, who's owner nuked all the videos on it a couple of years ago for an unknown reason. I have most of the albums downloaded in flac as well as some others that I have since discovered or have since been released.

I uploaded some gameplay videos of Suguri like ten years ago that reached about 50-100 viewers last I checked.

I used to a really long time ago and these last couple of years I've been thinking about picking up editing again and / or uploading things related to my interests, but my loyalty to Anonymous and negative feelings for the moder internet make it hard to justify this idea.
I'd love to be able to make money with videos, but I really dislike communities (viewer communities or those centered around the content) and especially if you can tell there's regulars in your comments trying to get noticed by the rest. I could turn off the comments, but at this point I might as well not even upload anything if I'm already eliminating my chances of getting picked up by the algorithm. You're also sacrificing your hobby to the modern internet if your intent is to make it somewhat big, inviting all the wrong people to take over discussion so that there is no reason to participate in it anymore.
The only idea I have to get the best of all words is to just cater to Japanese audiences, that way you can avoid most of the gaijins and blacklist common English terms to keep your comments clean.

I do unlisted uploads for my portfolio desu

I do unlisted livestreams for some friends. I generally play singleplayer games, so it's fun to be able to share it with my friends. Also nice to verbally talk sometimes, otherwise I only ever write.

Sometimes I upload playthroughs of retro games played in the "original" hardware without any commentary, other times I will stream to Twitch just for one or two friends . If suddenly I start seeing a lot of people I don't know, I will panic and cut the stream.
While you can be unlisted on Youtube, you can't do the same thing on Twitch and it's annoying as heck.

This is an odd one, but would anyone happen to know if manually blacklisted users and terms set by an uploader show up anywhere in the source code of a video page?
The reason I'm asking is because I know there are a few people subscribed to me that did so in order to spread sensitive information in the comments, which is something that can actually get worrisome on tiny channels where every comment gets seen. To my knowledge, you can't remove subscribers and I remember many years back when YT freshly removed public video tags, you were able to still check for those in the source code of video pages. I wouldn't want to expose my worries by having my blacklisted terms and users show up there as well.
I also remember not having been able to do anything against reuploads back then, though that is a different story entirely and I hope you have more options for that nowadays.
