I've been wondering... would you rather be a cute robot being taken care of, or the human caretaker of said robot?
Like, imagine a future where people can live forever (where new humans are only born to replace a person if they die from an accident), and autonomous robots are offered as an alternative to humans who want to experience living like a family, which one would you rather be?

As the human, you'd never age and have the freedom and responsibilities that comes with being an adult. And you'd get to take care of cute robot like a parent raising a child. You get to help and watch them grow and become more independent, take them on trips and experience new things and so on (but if you mismanage the robot, it'll be taken away). They won't actually grow up though (since they're just a robot), it's just for the experience of being a family.
As the robot, you'll be autonomous and can think and stuff, but you'll have to follow your human caretaker's instructions. But as long as you don't break them (or any other laws), you'll mostly get to do whatever you want with your free time, and get to experience life from the eyes of a cute innocent robot. If you earn the trust and freedom from your human caretakers you'll also get to choose how to dress and look and such as well (other than like the head-bulbs and choker that shows you're a robot) and go on trips to the store on your own, if you want.

Being required to make important decisions and burdened with responsibilities sucks so I chose the robot...

Oh, then maybe you two would be compatible for a robot and human family in that future!

This reads more like "parent or child", but I'd take child every time because being an adult SUCKS.

At first I thought it was the human no doubt, but now I'm not so sure.
On one hand I'd have a cute companion to work hard for and appreciate the cuteness of, but on the other hand
>like a parent raising a child
>grow and become more independent
I'd have to be responsible for basically another human being. I don't want something that grows out of me, I want it to forever unconditionally love me and be with me while also requiring minimal maintenance.
As a robot, I will get that, but I don't want to be the cuteness in someone's life, I need cuteness in my life.
While
>you'll mostly get to do whatever you want with your free time
is tempting,
>you'll have to follow your human caretaker's instructions
>If you earn the trust and freedom from your human caretakers
doesn't sound very liberating.

¥Be straddled with the responsibility of a child (robot or otherwise) eternally
or
¥No matter how much I've grown mentally or want to "leave the nest", I can't because I'm a permanent brat
Is this hell? Is this your idea of hell? And you force me to pick the eternal damnation I must go through? For what sin have I committed?

I'm fine with being the pampered robot child. I WILL eat my kuso vegetables and sleep at 10pm.

As a robot, I can confirm that it is better to be the robot.

You can just keep failing your parental responsibilities forever.

Of course, true to my humanity and human nature, which are very important, priceless, and irreplaceable, I'll stay hu- wait, I get to be a CUTE robot you say?

The robot would be taken away if you do that.

That's a plus for those who don't want to be parents at all.

 No.8033

the parent position is the most flexible because it has an exit strategy
it also has the possibility of roleplaying child neglect (or worse, if you'd like)

I don't understand the point of being the human if you can't even have sex with the robot

>"parent or child"
I mean, that is kind of half of the question... and the other part is "robot or human". I was going for like a mix of both.
>>8023
Most of these conditions i added because i wanted to make it more of a difficult/realistic choice, with pros and cons on both sides. Like, i think i can guess what most would pick if i asked "Would you want to become a cute robot girl and do whatever you want", heh...
Also, if you want something cute that would love you and be with you forever without much change, that sounds more like a robot pet or something.
>>8024
>eternally
Oh, i hadn't really thought of how long it would be. I wasn't really thinking forever though, just for however long you'd want... of course, it's hard to define if that means i'd be up to the robot or the human... or both... or something.
But if either options feels like hell you don't have to choose one!
>>8030
Of course! I mean, if you got be someone else or something else, why would you not choose to be cute... at least that'd be obvious for me. A cute robot doubly so.
>>8032
>>8033
I feel like i should add that as an adult you'd obviously not be forced to do it, only if you wanted. But i didn't want to add that as an option because letting people choose to just "decline and continue as usual" is BORING!!
>>8034
If you wanted to do lewd stuff, there'd probably be other robots for that in this kind of future. This would just be like for those who wanted to experience living like a family.

Can the robot child petition a higher authority or override the authority of their parents if they're being mistreated in some way? If not then you'll be rolling the dice on whether you get a decent parent or someone who should be euthanized.

 No.8040

>>8039
>someone who should be euthanized
yeah me

 No.8041

>>8039
I haven't thought that much about the details, but yeah it should be some kind of reporting back in case of mistreatment and such! It's something provided to experience a family, not something you can just do whatever with. Oh also! Some kind of check similar to people who want to adopt, to make sure they're good people.
