This is why I don't use electronics while drinking.

I spilled beer on my desktop once but luckily it was on the side of the tower that had no holes for it to seep through.

being a laptop man is comfy
can switch from being in bed to my desk to the dining room on the fly
not like I play anything demanding enough for a proper desktop anyway

My ThinkPad(tm) has this amazing feature called hotswapping.
If I ever spill too many liquids on it, it activates a Python script that buys a new ThinkPad(tm).

The first time should have taught you to get a cup with a lid......

But my internet friends would laugh at me for drinking wine from a sippy cup...

Just get a tumbler... They're insulated and have a lid.

Do they come in plain aluminum so I can tell myself it's a cocktail shaker?

Legitimately gross story: My last keyboard had a infestation of moth larva gestating inside it, when I noticed them I took the keyboard apart and removed about a dozen maggots from inside, I then fucking broke the keyboard like a retard because I plugged it back in before waiting for it to fully dry (from washing it out) so it shorted

 No.4264

>>4263
How does it even get to this point?

gross
I took out the battery, ssd, and ram, then soaked the whole laptop in the tub for a moment
I got it as dry as I could with a little towel and hairdryer, now it's sitting in front of the register
should I give it a try with the battery tomorrow?
how long would you guys reckon it'd take to get completely dry?
ordered a new one of the same type so I can just plug my SSD right in but if I can get the old one working again I might return the new one

 No.4266

>>4264
Honestly I don't even know
I expected the inside of the keyboard to be rotten but it was pretty normal, some hair, some dead skin, some crumbs, nothing really that would make a good nest for moths

 No.4267

>>4263
1. How? Why? Please tell me you only found out when the moths started swarming your screen.
2. Why didn't you just toss the keyboard and buy a shiny uninfested new one?

>>4265
>how long would you guys reckon it'd take to get completely dry?
24 hours is generally a safe bet unless you live underneath the Niagara Falls or something.
Also, cleaning it with compressed air and rubbing alcohol is probably quicker and safer. Just saying.

No but I did have a separate outbreak a little while ago, they were just the clothes eating kind and I used a low power vacumn to relocate about a dozen of them
The issue is that I just find them very easy to ignore, especially compared to flies
>2.
I'm poor, I did buy a new keyboard but it was a kuso cheap one

>they were just the clothes eating kind
I hate those so much. The worst part is that clothes are much harder to disinfect.
I hear lavender (dried or essential oil) helps repel them pretty well, but I only learned about that after I moved out of my last place that had moths, so I've never had the opportunity to try it.

 No.4270

Were the moths cute?

my previous asus laptop tanked tea spill, water spill, a boxer glove punch with a fall to the floor, a kefir spill, multiple overheats
only had to replace the HDD after the punch incident. still kicking though it's weak and I dunno what to use it for

 No.5073

>>5071
Wow, that must have been a rough day for the laptop

 No.5080

>>5071
You have the restraint to take the time and properly put on a boxing glove before venting your rage, but you can't restrain yourself from uppercutting your laptop??

 No.5081

>>5080
it was just a punchbag boxing session but my whole body slipped. happens when you involve yourself with technology
