It ALWAYS fucks with me in when the hair color doesn't match what they say, especially when it's colored in the anime. Why say it's silver when it's clearly purple?

I usually brush that off as artistic license. Real black hair can have a blue or green sheen under certain lighting conditions, and the same goes for dark brown hair and purple or red, mouse/ginger and orange/red, and obviously blonde and yellow. It's only a small step to assume we're seeing that subjective impression while the characters in-universe see the actual colors.
It becomes more jarring when neither of the two are real hair colors and we're given no indication that fantastical hair colors exist in-universe but they still describe one as the other.
