Probably due to (lack of) experience and the limitations of technology. I know what big boobers or mountains look like, not so much the other traits. We have like thousands and thousands of words to describe the appearance of things, but when it comes to describing the other stuff we're severely limited and other just allude to other things. "The apple tastes like an apple" instead of "it has a shiny, waxy appearance and curves inward and the stem is firm and blahblah". We're definitely attuned to visuals.

I also think that, with touch specifically, we tend to lump it in with sight. Form, texture, and hardness are all things that concern your hands, but they're things that the human brain trys to figure out with the eye beforehand, so much of the language we have for describing them is visual.

If I'm not experiencing a sensation at that very moment, it exists to me as merely a concept. You all need to focus on the present more.
