Love the series but this part felt a little contrived.

Even if it was a bit contrived that was the point of the kakera, it was a miracle that Rika snatched from the jaws of defeat.

That part’s fine, it’s the blatant product placement I find a little forced.

The anime had its own soundtrack, which was quite amazing at times, but it's a shame it missed out on stuff like 'You - Destructive' in this scene. Hearing the song usually associated with great tragedy turned around with a high tempo during the breakthrough was a beautiful thing. I'm a sucker for that sort of thing.

or are you saying the viddy spliced out the sound with You - Destructive while keeping all the original dialogue only to put the Ronald McDonald stuff on top

Yeah, it's not in the original scene. It's more generic movie kind of background music that doesn't detract from the voices I guess.

Heh, good thing this is one of the ol' bookmarks that didn't die yet.
Go to 100 seconds if the clip thing doesn't work- I don't think it does for direct links.
This is the scene in the VN and the full impact here is 5000% of the anime scene. The culmination of 80 hours of VN Rika suffering and praying for the miracle.
I seem destined to bring up this scene every year when /cry/ returns and I do it gladly. This scene is imprinted into my soul.

It's been a while, so I guess it's possible that I did it. I remember looking back at the pieces and doing some changes in the order, but I don't think I remember an alternate ending thing... or do I? I'm not sure. I never fully trusted his words since the things he said in the epilogue commentary were often misdirections or things that didn't seem to mean much in the story.

I remember going through the scenes in the special order made it obvious this was the way they were meant to be read; the flow was greatly improved.
