Why does this site have a Steam chat, but not a Steam group?
Verniy, make us an official Kissu Steam group:

expanding spaces outside of the site would be gay

>>14203Excuse me for being off topic but what's actually good about that game? As far as I can tell its just a typical board game but with anime girls waow! Fucking unfathomable to me how some anons have sunk 1000+ hours into it when a hundred feels like a lifetime in any other game to me.

>>14205It's been a long time since we played it regularly, but, hmm...
It's a fun, cute party game. There's a lot of randomness to it, but strategy and planning ahead does play a role. This means a newbie has a chance to beat someone with a 1000 hours in it.
The monetization is that they add a couple new characters you buy every few months, but there's new events (with costumes) that are free.
It can be run on a computer from 2002. You can spectate. It's turn-based so you can do other things while playing.
Also it's very cute.
...
We need to start playing again.

Fuck it, I made one myself.
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/kissumoeEveryone, join this group.
No.14213
>>14212I really don't see how Kissu benefits from this. The way I see it, all this does is drive away potential traffic (threads for Steam games) from here to a different place that will eventually become Namefighausen if successful. This seems very selfish in that it looks like it prioritizes personal luxury, like not having to make game threads and having easier access to Non-anons and potential online contacts, over Kissu. Since moderation also won't be the same, there is a chance of creating a subculture that will eventually annoy us when they got too comfortable with behavior that isn't tolerated here. Even worse if those people want to stand out, put on their names here and ruin everything the same way Discord cliques do all the time on 4chan boards with low activity.
No.14214
What's even the point? I use imageboards because they are imageboards, not because there is a special inherent trait in the people that use them (there really isn't) that makes me want to chat with them elsewhere.

>>14213When has having a Steam group ever hurt a website?
No.14231
>>14230They're being a bit over-reactive to the idea of community dilution through chatrooms. In this case since a steamgroup is basically nothing, it's an advertisement if anything.
Still, don't expect anyone here to care about it. We have a steamchat where you can potentially find the admins(but don't expect good customer service). That's about it.
No.14232
I forgot about the steam chat. I was in it at one point but I left because I never open steam anymore anyway.
No.14234
>>14233This has gone from slightly annoying to being plain weird
The dude has founded like 5 different steam groups dedicated to alt chans
And there's also facebook groups dedicated to them...
Whatever THIS is, should be avoided like the plague
No.14236
>>14235Those screen shots are directly from the creator of the steam group
I don't think there's anything nefarious but is very strange
I'm not sure what makes someone so obsessed with running steam groups for altchans

it just seems to be an oddball guy who likes making chan groups for whatever reason
the erischan one has just him as the sole member as well, and was also created today, while the soyjak.blog group he created is from last month
>>14236i wouldn't call him obsessed when it's just a few, and i simply assume he likes having that space to interact with people
just not sure what drove him to spontaneously make one for kissu and eris
No.14239
>>14238>just not sure what drove him to spontaneously make one for kissu and erisAttention. Anyone that would put anything associated with imageboards on facebook is bad news. I can accept steam because maybe you want to play games with anons or something. But facebook involves dox.
I left the one I joined here years ago because I didn't want to be doxed. I don't mind playing with you guys and miss doing it now and again. But I don't see any point remaining in a chat I only visit maybe once every 3 years because I rarely use my steam account anyway. Playing Blazblue was fun that one time though.
Come to think of it I haven't played video games at all outside of a few with kissu anons in the last 3-4 years.
No.14241
>>14240Pretty sure I was in the unofficial one at some point since whoever was in it with me was posting in an active thread and streaming the game to the usual place. I assumed it was legit because no one ever posted anything in it.
No.14243
>>14242A lot of times I assume it's just a child with nothing better to do. But I'm weary of people that make groups for things they obviously don't own/participate in at all. Seems like a dumb way to spend your time.
No.14245
>>14231I feel that "over-reactive" is an unfair description, I put my thoughts on the matter out there for potential consideration and made sure to emphasize that it's just my opinion.
>>14230I couldn't tell you for Steam specifically, I just see the potential dangers (stated in the other post) associated with subcultures that I believe have no real need to exist and should therefore be avoided for being a greater risk than they are beneficial. Anons aren't opposed to such ideas for nothing and I'm willing to bet most of us who are worried about them also once assumed they aren't that bad.
I still think this is cute and the negativity does hurt me to see even if I agree with the reason. If it's about making friends, you can always add people when joining games in the threads here and no one will know. If you ever see someone just in general who you feel you really connect with, you can always ask them to trade info with throwaway mails and delete those posts later.
