I've kind of been wondering, what counts as an AMV? Like, does it have to cover the full song? Does the beat of the music and video animation have to "match"? Or like what are the main points?
Asking because i'm unsure what would be okay to post here or not.

I assume the only requirement other than music would be for the source material to be at least somewhat related to Japanese media, because that would make the most sense in the context of a Kissu thread.
Aside from that, I bet anything goes. I know that there have been extremely sophisticated AMVs even 20 years ago with editing near the level of studio-produced OPs (minus own animations and music), but even so, every video of any length and quality seems to count as an AMV so long as it is custom-made and features animated scenes with music.

Ah, so it really is a pretty open definition? I guess it makes sense. I never really thought about it much before, but in hindsight that probably means i have a couple of videos that could probably count as an AMV, more or less.
