>>9581So are plenty of European countries that didn't make it to this list, right?
Spain and Italy are complete opposites of Japan in the sense you're asking, you may as well have not included them anon.
No.9584
I'm inclined to say Italy because both Italy and Japan have the oldest population in the world. But culturally they're not very alike...

>>9574The UK without a doubt. Slavish worship of monarchs, terribly bland cuisine which sonehow also loves Indian curries, islands loathed by all their neighbours for invading all of them at one point, bizarre accent and language compared to all their neighbours, got in first on industrialisation in the region and fucked it all up, seething resentment towards a continental superstate. Honourable mention to the nords for their mutual love of decomposing food though.
No.9596
>>9585Can confirm, I accidentally went to Düsseldorf once and it was the only time I ever saw a Japanese person. She was on the phone during the entire train ride but never spoke loud enough to be a nuisance.
Also, their train station was absolutely plastered with anime-inspired graffiti. It was surreal.

>>9574Finland, even google search used to suggest that finland is japan of europe.
No.9839
>>9574Nope, it's not Germany.
It's Sweden. Sweden is most maritime with weirdest food out of the list.
People conflate German attention to precision with Japanese dedication and sensitive sensibility but that's just not correct.
Sweden is the most correct AT LEAST by the virtue of bordering Finland. Finland is quite Japanese and Asian, possibly most than any other European country, and Sweden is technically most Finnish for bordering Finland and being on good terms with it, so it's absolutely Sweden.
No.9840
>>9839I'm Swedish and I'd say we're mostly similar in like a few select ways (and in a lot of ways the Finns are too) that can basically be broken down to "orderly and quiet", but everything I've gleamed about Japan implies they're very constrained by tradition whilst people here are often very "eh, whatever" and more casual as long as you respect personal space, at least in the recent 4 decades or so.
Aside from that, the countries are about the same size geographically and we're basically on an island (peninsula but close enough), but it's flatter and has more lakes. Still got some mountains though. Finland also used to be Sweden. Although the only place in Japan with similar biome to most of the country is Hokkaido.
Also when I was in Germany they were way more talkative than we are.
